Hello! I'm from Russia. «Emotiva» in my country a new brand, but I already know something about him. I am waiting my «BasX A-300» in august. I need to choose speaker for stereo. My room – 5x4 meters. What's better: «Airmotiv B1» + subwoofer (what model?) or «Airmotiv T1» + subwoofer (what model?).

What's better: «Airmotiv B1» + subwoofer (what model?) or «Airmotiv T1» + subwoofer (what model?). Welcome to the forum, so happy you found us. The BasX-300 is highly acclaimed and you should be bery happy with it. The two speakers you ask about are very different from each other. As the T1 is a full voiced tower not needing a subwoofer in most cases and is just over twice the price of the Airmotiv B1 which are stand mounted and most likely require a subwoofer. My preference would be to go with the full body tower, the T1 and not mess with the smaller B1 which would require you to also purchase stands and at least one subwoofer. What prepro or preamp are you looking at to drive these, perhaps you have something already. Once again, welcome. novisnick

That's a good size room; I would go with the larger model if you can. if you still have an issue later with brightness you can do much with room treatments to temper that. (Carpeted?) The only loudspeaker I ever bought sight unseen was the subwoofer (Velodyne), and that was because someone I trust had the same loudspeakers I did, and was totally pleased with his. Frequency range below 40Hz is not as critical, timbre wise, as the mid/tweeter range, so easier to chance it, so long as the size and power are proportionally correct to the rest of the system. Bill

Bill, I also look at «Emotiva T2», but i think they very power (for my room).
«Canton 518 DC» have metal loudspeaker, so the sound is very bright – aluminium sound :–))

They are actually small speakers. They are not as huge as the pictures make it look. I have heard them and I thought they sounded really nice imo.

What's better: «Airmotiv B1» + subwoofer (what model?) or «Airmotiv T1» + subwoofer (what model?). I spoke directly to Dan and Lonnie when I was at the Axpona audio show in Chicago last April about that very issue. they both said without any hesitation that the T1 and T2's were better than the (B1 + a small sub) because the overall sound would be more coherent and cohesive. they felt the use of a sub with the T2's was only necessary if you are a bass freak or doing lots of surround sound. tchaik............. good luck on your choices. these all are really great sounding speakers for a modest price.

There is such a formula for calculation power speaker by size of the listening rooms: Power of speakers = 1 watt x 1 cubic meter
For me: 6 m (length) x 4 m (width) x 2,7 m (height) x 1 watt = 64,8 watt nominal power

Fine, now questions – T1 or T2 for my 24 square meter rooms :–)) Get the best one you can afford. They are both quite good. The T2's provide some really nice bass extension for the size. IF you can afford the T2 go for the T2

I had the T1's (ended up gifting them to a young relative as I got new main speakers and everything moved down a notch). The T1's are *exceptional* for the money. It was a hard job to let go of them (I shed a tear as I loaded them into the minivan to transport them to their new home). A neighbour came round and listened to my T1 setup and immediately went home and bought himself the same setup he'd just heard - they are *that* good.
I haven't heard the T2's, but if they go deeper than the T1's they are a real bargain.
Check out the online reviews. The reviewers are amazed this much speaker costs this little (as am I :-).
