If you have never seen this performance at the Kennedy Center honors for Carole King, hold onto your hats, and bring tissues, lots of them.
Simply amazing.

I am in morning. I've been crying since I heard Tuesday that she was very ill. I reluctantly played one of her CD's yesterday I was so full of worry, and then I woke up this morning and the first thing I heard was that she had passed. All Hail The Queen she will be missed, thank you for coming our way RIP.

RIP Aretha. We have lost so many great ones over the years. I am so thankful that we have the resources to still enjoy the music they have left us.

I know - thread resurrection, but I just remembered:
Anybody see that musical show on TV = "Divas" with Aretha, Carole King, and Mariah Carey
IMHO - Carole King is a GREAT songwriter, but not really the "Diva" type (I think that she's more "folksy and down-to-earth")
Mariah Carey has GREAT range, but I also think that she's more of a "Diva Wannabe'"
Aretha sang those other two chicks off the stage!
Wouldn't it be great to leave that legacy of music and moving performances, long after you're gone?
