Hi, I love my Cerwin Vega L9 front speakers I got in 1994 and was wondering if the C1 would be a decent match. Unfortunately I an unable to find the specs for them anywhere online so I was looking for any input that might help.
Thanks! Paul

Unless you can find a center speaker that has the same tweeter, or has similar timbre the C1 would be as good a choice as any other center speaker. Timbre matching is a crapshoot when you mix and match. I have a custom made Selah Audio center speaker that I'm currently using with the Polk LSiM705 towers. Seems to be 'ok' but I'll probably buy a 704 or 706 center speaker that matches the ring tweeter in the Polks. However, the Selah speaker is so danged clear that I'm conflicted on that. The Selah speaker is smaller and fits perfectly right under my display, with about .25" clearance. Perfect!
I don't think comparing speaker specs is going to tell you whether the C1 would match with your CV speakers though. It's all trial and error. I've had center speakers that were never made for the mains I've owned that actually timbre matched better than the deticated center speaker. I owned Emotiva ERT 8.3s for a long time. The center speaker that should have matched best was the ERM-6.3, but an Infinity Interlude IL36c had a better match, nearly perfect! Not that the ERM 6.3 was bad, just not as close as the Infinity speaker.

Free 30 day trial. Send it back if you end up not liking it, but I'll bet it will be just fine.

I had a Klipsch R-25C that I couldn’t pass up at $125 but but it just didn’t go, and I even purposely played it while I wasn’t home to break it in. I am looking at the C1, martinlogan 8/8i, paradigm 1 v7, Polk csi a6, and svs prime center. Any of those stick out there to you as a much better choice, and do u know the difference between the ML 8 and 8i, other than the $75-$100 price difference?
Thanks again Paul
