hi
just to clarify
if i was to use my denon 4400 with 2 emotiva t2 fronts and c2 centre what can 2 amps can i use to vastly increase the 2 front speakers quality of sound i want to connect 2 amps to the main denon 4400 to the low frequencies of the main left of each left and right speaker and then the other amp for the high frequencies of the left and right terminals
what would be the best opions to use i already have a emotiva xpa2 gen3 what do people advise thanks
then i will use emotiva upa 200 blocks to improve each speaker i will be using a 11.4 system

What is 'improve'?? It would appear you just want 'louder'? Biamp without an active crossover won't buy you much of anything. Deleting the speakers crossover and adding a LINE LEVEL crossover helps a LOT, depending on certian factors. I doubt you can do that and still use the Denon's internal amplifiers. That being said, you can help the receivers lifetime by running it cooler. Outboard amps, properly ventilatd CAN help in this regard. I dont know the REAL power output of the Denon, but I'm not' optimistic that it is much over 70% of what they call the one-channel RMS, 8ohm rating. That's with 3 or 4 channels cranking. And I rather also suspect that were you to fall for a 4 ohm speaker, THAT would make matters worse rather than better. And as a plus? Any out board amps you buy NOW will probably...or SHOULD, anyway, last thru 1 or 2 upgrade cycles. Make certain any such amps are 4ohm rated and NOT 1% distortion.

If you already have an XPA-2 driving the front L/R speakers I doubt you are going to "vastly" improve the sound with another amp. As leonski said passive bi-amping is not going to significantly (let alone vastly) improve the sound. Note that dividing the frequency range into two bands and using an amp for each band is not the same as doubling the power. And passive bi-amping is even worse as the voltage headroom for each amp is essentially unchanged -- insignificant benefit. What is lacking with the sound now that you want to improve? It is more likely you need new speakers, not another amplifier, to improve from an XPA-2.

Dividing with a Line Level crossover, either active or passive can net up to maybe 3db apparent power increase. Passive biamp with an HT receiver? Gets you nearly nowhere.

FWIW I spent a lot of time/money upgrading amps and I found by far the biggest upgrade I did sound wise is when I went from my Marantz SR7009 AVR to the 8802a pre/pro. I already had all of the external amps though so my cost was not too crazy.

Started two threads then disappeared 👻 without answering either one. Bill

The XMC-1 would be a great upgrade if it supported Atoms (since the OP is running Atmos). The new XMC-2 would do a great job as well.

For the cost of the XMC and the like, of around 2500$, I'd have the bar set pretty high. That is a no-foolin' price with expectations to match.
