Thanks for all the replies, I think I will cut bait and move on. Who knows maybe even stick with another Emo. This 25% off thing sounds about as mysterious as the 40% I was offered how would one qualify for that? I purchased my Emo in a store in 2007 and have lost the receipt a long time ago. Was the UMC-1 around in 2007? Weren’t the 40% discount cards issued with UMC-1’s? What model processor do you have? It’s not that “mysterious”, Emotiva was a direct dealer and 40% discounts were available with UMC-1’s, when the UMC-1 finished buyers of UMC-200’s we’re entitled to 25% off future processor purchases. A common style of “customer loyalty” program. Your warranty for (hence purchase of) the processor should have been lodged with Emotiva by the “dealer”. The serial number is the indentifier, quote that to Emotiva and see what record they have of it. Cheers Gary

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the input. The serial number would indeed seem to be a logical barometer. I have the MMC it was before the UMC models.
I think I am finally getting somewhere . thanks don

But I'm not sure if it still did when the price was dropped to $699 later on. I'd suggest emailing or calling Emotiva with the serial number, explaining your story and see how you get on. Cheers Gary

I'm pretty sure that the early "40% discount" programs were all associated with an actual card (the one for the UMC-1 definitely worked that way). Like a gift card, the card can be gifted, bought, or sold, but can only be used once. As such you must have physical possession of the card to use it. (US customers physically got the card; for international customers it was "noted in your file" - so you'd have to call in and check.)

Thanks guys,
I was either given wrong information or even the dealer didn't understand. It is pretty clear from reading this thread and making contact with Emo that no one knows for sure. I had someone from EMO put me in the UFL program not quite the 40% off for life ( which is what I was told about on purchase ) or even the one time 40% off but at least after 11 years they did something. Now is it the xmc for 1900.00 after the 25% discount or the outlaw 976 for 600.00 used ?

That's better than most at least Don If you are happy with just manual PEQ and using REW the 976 may be adequate . If you want an automatic room eq that is top draw [ dirac] built in the xmc1 is on runout with but 20 or so left .. Otherwise an add on mini dsp with dirac component can be tacked on to the 976 for an extra sum . If you want to take advantage of any UHD discs with the new dolby atmos ' dts-x codecs the XMC1 can be given a pair or 2 off ceiling speakers when it gets its upgrade ;the 976 is 7.1 only.. Good luck
