I recently purchased a Sony UBP-X800 which has the DSEE HX sound enhancement which upscales from 44.1 to 88.2 kHz which I have hooked up to my UMC-200 via HDMI. When I'm streaming Pandora with the DSEE HX on it occasionally drops the audio at the beginning of a song but maintains the video signal. Once it drops the audio it won't come back on until the next song loads. I've changed HDMI cables and used different HDMI inputs on the UMC-200 which didn't help. I initially thought it was a problem with the Sony, but when the audio isn't working and I switch to a different input on the UMC with the remote and then switch back to the input for the Sony the audio comes back on so it must be a problem with the UMC. I had another Sony blu ray hooked up before this one that didn't have the audio upscaling and never had this problem. I've also tried changing the output on the Sony from bitstream to PCM and that didn't work either. Any ideas?

I would have to say keep the DSEE HX off, I doubt there would be a discernible difference anyhow, save you a lot of frustration as well Chad

It is subtle, but you can tell when it's on. I did figure out how to get around the problem though by using HDMI for the video input and S/PDIF for the audio input. Since I made the switch I haven't had any more problems with the audio dropping. It's great that the UMC is so flexible and allows you to use different audio and video inputs for each device.

Nice that you found a workaround, I'm still trying to find a difference between 44.1 HIFI tracks and 88.2/96 Master tracks on Tidal haha
