What does eq and bringing up the big hitting moments have to do with atmos? Their idea of "dynamic" in the first paragraph is about dynamic positioning allowing the processor to switch between different speaker settings. The petitions idea of "dynamic" is referring to dynamics in volume. For dynamics in volume, sounds like the petitioners need to invest in better equipment/room setup. I haven't had problems with volume or dynamics.

Nothing in this sport EVER put more of a damper on the fun then the push for object based audio colliding with the original introduction of the XMC1. I wish the whole thing would just go away. Bill

You can write your own objections to Disney while signing. Or start a new change.org inquiry.

I haven't had problems with volume or dynamics. For me signing the petition was more to do with consistent pinning to 7.1.4 rather than any consistent lack of dynamics. For sure there are some tracks that I find lacking in dynamic range, I'm not a fan of "elevator musac". I know I can just turn up the volume, there's plenty of watts there to do it. But then the "quiet bits" are no longer quiet, I like light and shade in sound and that means 20+ db of range. Cheers Gary

Right but what I'm saying is the petition text doesn't say anything about the 7.1.4 in your post. It talks about volume dynamics. Unless I'm reading it wrong. I can't access the link to read the full text.

Yeah I wrote the concerns I had with pinned audio in the comment. But wouldn’t hurt to have a different inquiry that actually defined that as a large factor along with dynamics.

I can't access the link to read the full text. Of course you're right, if I had written the petition I would have written it differently, with more emphasis on the pinning. But this was the lead in for me "We enjoyed these films a lot in the theater and would like to recreate that experience to the best of our ability at home." It's not pinned in the cinema version so don't pin it in the HT version. If another petition pops up for pinning then I'll sign that one too An after thought, I can understand the reasons for pinning (although I don't agree with them), but I have problems with understanding why anyone would suppress the dynamics. If it's too "quiet" we are going to turn it up anyway, so the "disturbing the neighbors" excuse doesn't wash. Cheers Gary

Signed this about a month ago and shared it on a large home theater group I’m a part of on Facebook. Got quite a few signatures in our group. Hope it helps, I should be reaching for my Disney/Marvel movies when I give HT demos. Never once have I even considered it. The sound on Black Panther was so dreadful I’m not sure if I’ll ever watch it again.
