Again... sort of obvious.
Tell us about discs you've played that really seemed to take advantage of all those channels and objects. (Or tell us about discs that looked really cool in the previews, but seemed to be a letdown in terms of immersive surround sound.)

There is bit of negativity surrounding 7.1.4 pinning, mostly Disney, but I must say I haven't really found any of the labelled "Atmos 7.1.4" movies to be much of a problem. Sure they play 7.1.4 (5.1.2 in my friend's system) and without upmixing, post proceesing, matrixing, upscaling etc they still sound pretty damn good. There are varying degrees of compression of dynamics, but for dialogue audible reasons I even find that not so bad.
I have yet to find a disc that plays more than 9.1.6 without upmixing, post proceesing, matrixing, upscaling etc. If anyone has found one please post it up.
Cheers Gary

It sounds incredible in my 7.2.4 setup.

The DTS HDMA on the all the Potters is great! I’m going to state something obvious for some us ... we’re waiting for Emotiva to deliver an Atmos / DTS:X solution! 😮

At this point in time, I have at least a dozen Blu-ray Discs, (most of them are 3D) that have an Atmos soundtrack . On my non Atmos system , they sound so incredible without it, the thought of spoiling that experience never occurs to me. Robbing fidelity from a system, for the effort of trying to assign a location for everything with inferior loudspeakers, is a wasted effort.

Bill How much did it spoil the experience when you tried expanding with inferior speakers? What system did you try before you went back to your standard layout?
