So what was the story on the Stealth series of amps? Just spotted a SA-250 for sale in a listing through HiFi Shark. I had never heard of this one. Educate me please.  |

Limited traditional class AB amplifier that had the studio and audiophile in mind. Balanced and unbalanced connections. Over 200 watts per channel. Massive Linear Power Supply. High Current and voltage output stages. Stealth product styled motif.

I always thought it was basically a rebadged Sherbourn PA2-250, when Emotiva dissolved Sherbourn entirely years ago. Excellent amp.

Superb amp. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd.
Yes, it was originally a Sherbourn amp but Emo made some modifications: Faceplate, ground lift and selectable gain IIRC. It is NOT an XPA-2 and it is not even configured the same. The transformer has dual secondary wires - one set feed the left and the other feeds the right side of the amp. More similar to a dual mono amp.

Mine was a superb paperweight. Went back to Franklin four times for warranty service before I gave up. FYI.

We had a few service issues with one or two SA-250's....
But, yes, it was a really nice amp.... it performed very well and sounded really good....
(And, no, it wasn't directly comparable to any other Emo or Sherbourn model...)

What's the story with your avatar? My avatar picture was taken at a press screening of 'Man Of Steel' with a group of local cosplayers, Justice League Arizona.. A friend photoshopped the logo on me in the picture as that i am kind of indirectly related to one of the Superman creators..my moms sister's husband was a cousin of Jerry Siegel. |
