Harmony remotes work great! But good luck with the FM tuner! 🤮 Wonderful piece of gear for sure!👍

I just purchased the Sofabaton U1. I bought it because I use a Roku for streaming. At times I had to juggle three remotes just to get to my streaming service, and turning devices on and off. I just set it up and so far so good. It seems to mimic the layout of the TA100 remote (I assume it is the same as the PT100). Here is a link to the sofabaton website. I bought mine through Amazon. I am not going to venture to the radio station set-up. I don't want to get on that merry go round again. www.sofabaton.com/u1.htmlPS - You can "program" the Sofabaton remotes keys. For example, you can assign the remote's volume keys to the Emotiva volume control. I think you can assign the input selection to a specific key, but I don't know if you can assign the phono input to a specific key. I'll give it a shot and update again.

For the Sofabaton U1 remote, you can program some of the remote's keys to a specific Emotiva TA100 function. You can do this through the "reassign remote key" function. You can basically assign any function to any key. The choices are up to you. You do the programming through the Sofabaton app.
The U1 remote layout has the center OK button with button scrolling left/right and up/down. These keys match Emotiva's remote and I didn't change them. That is, the up/down controls the volume, the left/right controls input, and the OK is a mute.
I did assign the treble up/down to the remote's volume up/down, and the base up/down to the channel up down.
I assigned inputs to the numeric keypad. For example, phono is the "1" key, fm is "2", etc.
The one I could not figure out is the fm channel up / down. I don't plan on messing around with the fm programing.

FWIW - the sales guy is sending me a "better" remote.for the PT-100.. thanku Emotiva..
imagine my disappointment with the pt-100 when w/in 10 minutes I still couldn't get the tuner to work... what a lousy tool... look at instructions -- it takes 7 clicks on the remote to change the tone - according to their very own example... ...I had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to use the remote..got the tuner to start working, except it couldn;t pick up anything in stereo ..(I got 1 -- this with an outside mounted FM antenna)...
The tuner is pretty much worthless. My 60 year old Fisher 400 does better picking up stereo stations... they don't even list the specs in the manual (probably because they know they are so bad) ...
but phono sounds good, and the streamer I am playing through AUX is good, and sub and Parasound amp are fed well...mixed feelings overall about this product .. still think I should have looked more before getting the pt-100... will let you all know what this awesome remote is when it comes in

I read about how good this thing was, and like you should have done more research before buying it. For now, the garage system is rocking my old NEC receiver from 1988.

I hooked up the twin-lead FM antenna that came with the TA and got about 20 FM stations on my first scan. The menu is laborious for changing stations, but I find no issue in navigating it. I would suggest you get the BTM bluetooth module and stream whatever you desire. Better sound quality than my local broadcasts, which are lacking for good music content anyway.

Ex, I'd agree. FM is kind of a wasteland. Even here in SoCal which is a HUGE market. I live between SD and LA so I don't get all of either market. I made a 'rotater' for my dipole and get a Little better result that way. But most everything is North or South of me so not much diff.....I CAN get some stuff from 'inland' which is Riverside way.
At least AM has 'talk radilo' calculated to keep everyone stirred up. Shortwave is even WORSE. All, or most, anyway, of the good international broadcasters are gone or severely truncated. No more VOA. BBC a shadow of its former self. No more Radio Moscow or Radio Havana. Even HCJB (The Voice of The Andes) is gone. All the other standbys? I have no idea. I would get Japan, South Africa, Germany, France and for a few weeks, VERY early (just before sunrise) could get Viet Nam in ENGLISH....
I would never buy a receiver and would have probably boxed up a tuner, if I had one to box!

Wound up getting Sangean HD Radio tuner (on sale) ... mounted a decent Yagi FM outside, and can now listen to VPR Classical with no hiss... we live in a pretty remote spot, but up 2,000', so I can get HD from Albany when Yagi pointed in right direction.. I do agree a kind of wasteland, but FM is such a hassle-free way to listen to tunes, and also discover new music. But you know the writing is on the wall when good FM Antennas become more difficult to find ..
streaming seems to be the order of the day (and I do listen to WXXI out of Rochester every Sunday AM for the program With Heart and Voice...only 128K stream, but a great program.)

IMHO, Emotiva would have saved a lot of criticism by just OMITTING the tuner from the PT1 and just making it a tuner-less preamp. Outboard tuners are DIRT cheap, and putting the tuner section into their preamp just makes for customer frustration with the remote - an issue that didn't have to be there. In fact, Emotiva would be wise to just DISBLE the darned tuner & remove all reference to it from the owner's manual - Problem solved! In fact, I'd have liked to have seen the one-quarter of a cent that the tuner chip cost invested instead in a higher-quality capacitor for their high-pass filter in the bass management section (but that's just me). Oh well...

Uh guys. Terrestrial reception is a tough thing these days. I remember long time ago my favorite tuners. Sansui, Magnum Dynalab. Accuphase. Some Kenwoods, Pioneer. Just to name a few. Streams have pretty much displaced Analog anything over the airwaves. Smart speakers, and such. NPR can be picked up for example Terrestrially, but see the writing on the wall. FM, and AM is a comparatively small audience. Even cars with AM and FM most either have their own entertainment, like a flash drive that plays their music, or their mobile device over Bluetooth. Or some sort of subscriber service. I listen allot to NPR because FM otherwise does nothing for me. AM even less so. I spend all of my time either mobile or at home listening to my favorite things optimally. Without commercials or other interference like multi-path, static, and so on.
As always, your mileage may vary.
Oh yeah, I too use Sofabaton. It is provisionally good, and does not chew through batteries like my Harmony did. Also Logitech is pretty much still borning Harmony remotes. Support is there but questionable how long that will be. I like the Univeral Remotes brand, but I don't have a dealer account to program it. There are the old Pronto like remotes. Gad....do those things even work anymore? I use my Sofabaton mostly on my Samsung TV, and Sony TV, and my Anthem AVM-30. It works fine.

I’m still using my ancient “ palm pilot styled” remote that came with the Sunfire Theater Grand II Processor, to control the Emotiva XMC one. The thing is 22 years old! I have control over eight individual components with it. For anyone else who would attempt to use it to control anything, it would be like Voodoo, since the macros are so innocuous, that I had to be rather intuitive about it. I use a set of 4 AAA rechargeable, Eneloop‘s for power.
MAYBE 🤔, I should list this under today’s humor section

Bought a TA-100 months ago used. I've been testing it with a Sonos Connect Gen 2 and a Wiim Pro. I dislike the remote very much, and find it amazing that you have to either use the remote or physical turn the unit on. Is there a way to turn the unit on when my streamer turns on as well? I ended up buying a Emotiva A2 amp just in case I've got to get rid of the TA-100. Nice product, but I like to use my phone to turn my equipment on.
