My setup was built for streaming and my music digital music files with CD's and vinyl being long gone. I was tired of have having my music all over the place, on various streaming services etc. I wanted music in one place, with a tablet remote, and without the TV on. So I went with Roon + Tidal and dedicate a MacBook Pro as the Roon Core device (lots of Core choices FYI) and an iPad as the Roon remote control. By the way, the last thing with the iPad is, Permanently Enable “Guided Access” in your iOS settings and your iPad and the Roon app are locked so it's the only app running. I think Roon + Tidal is a simple and easy to use system. That is not always made clear when people look into the product because the it almost does too much when you set up a house system. I just wanted an easy way to have everything in one place and a good user experience on a tablet.

Yes, I also use Roon (with the new Qobuz service in the US) and I love it. It would be great if we could stream music directly to the XMC-1's DAC via RAAT protocol instead of having to use a bridge system in front.
I have a small fanless Linux server running Core, streaming to 3 different audio zones, each with a Lumin D1 DAC/streamer. Two of those zones have Emotiva equipment in. Lumins are connected to an XMC-1 in one room, and an XSP-1 in the other, both via balanced inputs. The XSP-1 is connected to an XPA-DR3 amp which is outstanding, so this can be a music-only setup, or use the HT bypass feature and turn on my HT devices. Outstanding setup.

I have an old Mac Mini into which I installed an SSD which runs Roon Server (core). My music is on a Synolology NAS but I also use Qobuz in Roon.
I have various Roon endpoints in the house including a Chromecast.
Such a neat platform.

Good deal and thanks for sharing your setup Paul
I'm also a Roon noob and enjoying figuring out how to bring it all together. Scott
