Does anyone know how to connect the Airport Express (from the audio/headphone jack on the Airport Express) to the XMC-1 to stream music from iTunes? I have the Airport Express setup properly, iTunes sees it, and I have a connector from the headphone jack on the Airport Express to the RCA (Red/White) Analog input connectors on the XMC-1, but I get no sound. Is there another connection scheme that might work? Thanks!

Sounds like your connections are correct. They are the same connections I used to use with my Airport Express and XMC.
Is there anyway you can confirm the Airport Express is outputting an audio signal? Maybe hook up some wired headphones to the Airport Express, then using your computer or iPhone use Airplay to play some music to your AirPort Express. If you can confirm that is giving you sound, double check that the XMC-1 input is turned on (accepting a signal) and assigned to the correct RCA analog inputs.

Hi deewan, thanks so much for the response. I checked the Airport Express output with headphones and there is music coming from them. So, the signal is getting from my Mac to the Airport Express. Can you explain a bit more about your last sentence. I am not sure what you mean by checking that the XMC-1 input is turned on. Thanks again for your response and for your help. I have also seen some comments online about needing a mini-toslink to toslink connector. Is this possibly an option? If so, does the toslink end connect to the Digital Audio inputs next to the AES/BU? Thanks again!

This way you’re using the (better) DAC in the XMC-1 as opposed to the one in the Airport. What’s not obvious is that the headphone jack on the Airport is also a mini-TOSLink jack so it can output analog or digital. Here’s an inexpensive cable that will do the job. www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=1557

Are you on the right input on the XMC? Also sure you are plugged into one of the 3 analog INPUTS and not an OUTPUT? Do you have a picture?

What I meant with my last sentence is asking to confirm the XMC input is turned on (you can turn off unused inputs that you are not using so when you toggled through you don't have to see them) and make sure the input you have assigned your Airport Express to is assigned to the proper analog input on the back of your XMC.
For example, lets say you have the Airport assigned to Input 3 in your XMC and have that input slot renamed it to "Airport". And you have the analog wires connected to analog input 1 on the back of the XMC. When you select input "Airport" to show on the front of the XMC make sure in the menu settings input 3 is assigned to use analog input 1, the default could be to use hdmi input 3.
The above suggestion is also correct, a digital output from the AirPort Express to the XMC would be the best sounding. In that situation you would make Input 3 ("Airport") assigned to digital 1 or whatever they are called in the menu.
