Hi, I have a UMC-1 with a replacement (plastic) Emotiva remote. The remote itself works, but it doesn't communicate with the UMC-1, at all. Any suggestions? I've tried all the usual stuff suggested by Emotiva support. Can this pre be operated by any universal remote? Thanks |

As far as universal remotes I know the Logitech Harmony remotes will work but can't speak for any other brand. |

I do not. With the Harmony you simply ad the UMC-1 device to the remote with the online programming and it's all taken care of for you. Emotiva may have that for you though. edit: Check the second post in this thread. There is a pdf linked with the metal remote codes. |

I have a umc-1 and I have a pioneer elite lx503 And I have no clue how to connect this pre amp to it I have searched the internet for 2 days wording it differently and I cannot figure it out. Can somebody point me in the right direction |

UMC-1 is a 7.1 channel preamp/processor with a tuner.
The VSX-LX503 is a 7.1.2 channel preamp/processor/amp with a tuner.
Use the UMC-1 with the amp of your choice connected to your speakers.
or
Use the VSX-LX503 connected to your speakers.
There's no logic to connecting both preamps together that I am aware of.

Some of the URC remote controls are "true programmable remotes" ... where you can actually enter and edit codes. For those we can send you a list of the codes themselves to enter ... (This is how the Logitech Harmony works... although, in that case, you can also download sets of codes provided by others.)
Other URC models merely offer the option of selecting the device you have off the list of whatever codes they have chosen to include on the device. With those you have to look at the list of codes for your particular remote control.
(Different models, from different dates, may have different lists.)
NOTE that Emotiva processors DO NOT all use the same codes... Different models have different codes - with some overlap... So, if you choose a different Emotiva processor, you may find that only some codes work, or some codes do unexpected things.
(For example the basic button codes for our XMC-1 will work with the XMC-2 and RMC-1... although the newer processors have extra codes that are different.)
