Time for another mea culpa:
Based on the Rendu discussions, and my successful audition of an ultraRendu, I decided to challenge another one of my paradigms - treating the power supplied to my system.
Purchased an CMX-6 and didn't tell my wife. She never saw it arrive, and I installed it without her knowledge. I did some tests and was impressed, but you know how the placebo effect can mess up perceptions.
The first night we're watching DirecTV via my XMC-1, she asks, "What did you do to the sound?".
I said, "nothing, really".
Last night, we're watching a Willie Nelson concert on AXS that we had seen before. Again, she asks about what changed - this time, it sounded like we were at the actual concert. I obviously told her about the CMX-6 now, and she said that she didn't care what it was, as long as we don't go back.
I never would've believed it, but it really has made a significant improvement. And I had been using a Panamax that was supposed to be "the best". The Panamax is still there (it's also a good surge protector), but it's now fed from the CMX-6. Even have my OLED TV getting its power through the CMX-6 (didn't notice any changes in PQ).

The microRendu reduces electrical noise going directly to the DAC of the XMC-1 and the CMX-6 may be cleaning up the line noise going directly into the XMC-1. What do you think?

To be honest, I don't know enough to have an opinion.

To be honest, I don't know enough to have an opinion. So you don't know "why", but you trust what you hear? Radical.

Heck - I'm not an electrical engineer.

I had my phono tube pre amp plugged into a surge protector. I could always hear a small noise, when not playing & just turning the system on. The la Scalla's II are super sensitive and the smallest noise would be heard. I plugged my phono pre amp to the cmx-6, just like my xpa-1 gen-2's and nad m-12, and the TT. Now I hear absolutely no noise, ears on the speakers, zero, when system is on and idle. CMX-6 is worth it IMO. I have 3 of them

I have said the same about my PF-60 (of which I have 2). People here have mostly tried to debunk my findings. But in my system, if I have the Emotiva amps plugged directly into the wall, they sound unbearingly harsh. Plugged into the PF-60, blissful. And it's not a mild difference, particularly at loud volumes.
I bought a CMX-6 and tried it too. It was most definitely better than plugging direct into the wall. I did find the PF-60 to be slightly nicer over all, and it had more inputs, so I sold my CMX-6 to a famous member here on this forum.
But I totally concur with your post, and definitely believe you when you say it improved the sound.
Not to mention, for the price, the CMX-6 is by FAR the best built power strip I have ever encountered. Its a tank.

I use a CMX-2 to remove a DC offset that my amp was picking up. Great product. My power filter is an industrial unit using a Schaffner power filter. While i didn't notice any obvious audio improvement, the black levels on my LCD display got MUCH better.
