I love my Legacy Audio Focus SEs. Pricey at just over $10k, but I've never felt even a tinge of regret. They have a frequency response down to 18Hz with two 12" Woofers each and a beautiful transparent sound. They're also very efficient/sensitive at 95.4 dB (2.83V@1m), so virtually any amplifier can drive them. I think they're probably the best speakers in their price range. Casey

I am a B&W fan..but I know their are many that do not like them. You did not mention a budget. I would suggest B&W, KEF, Dynaudio, the JBL 100's and lastly Salk speakers are but a few but the list will get you started on your journey. One thing to consider is the type of music you listen which will reflect how the speaker performs.

What's your budget, harrison20? Do you want new speakers or will you consider used ones? How loudly do you listen & how big is your listening room? What amps do you plan to drive your speakers with? Boomzilla

Your budget will probably dictate a lot of the choices we serve up. I would suggest Klipsch, although not everyone is a fan. Extremely detailed with horn tweeters, high power and high sensitivity. RF-7 iii are possibly the best bang for the buck speakers out there right now. I have a friend who is an authorized dealer and can get you a great deal on new or limited B Stock. Klipsch Heresy III are another fantastic speaker with great reviews, a three way floor stander that is just as home on a speaker stand.

Listen to Magnepans last, or at least before you make a final decision. They're not for everyone, but they're certainly different than box speakers. I believe they still offer a free 60 day trial for the MMGs. www.magnepan.com/model_MMGiEnjoy the quest! P.S., Denonman has upa-1 monoblocks for sale that will drive Maggies easily. 🙈🙉🙊

I have a set of speakers for sale - if you're interested in picking them up, I can't ship them. Auditions welcome. They either get sold this week, or get torn down and packed for storage. Check my signature.

Casey This is exactly what I plan on purchasing in the next few years. Need to actually be somewhere I feel I'll not move from for 5-10 years. That should be the next move. To me this is a 10-20 year purchase. Those speakers are amazing!

I will mention one very big down side to the Legacy Audio Focus SEs: they can get Very Loud with more Bass than you're probably ever used to hearing in music (or movies). I you live with neighbors on attached walls, they can get you into trouble ... :-)

Specs like Boomzilla was requesting is a great start. Do you have any currently and looking for something different? Details are helpful because the group is super helpful with just a few specifics. Right now making all suggestions going every which way so while fun, don't know how much help that is to you.
The most important thing is your expectations, and preferences. Ours here will vary. Suggestions are like finding the right chair, or shoes etc. Until you experience it, it is just all talk. So a few specs and expectations from you and where your personal preferences and kind music movies etc. would help allot. Really task us as the talent here is amazing. Cheers.

In the market for some new floor standing speakers and would like some suggestions. First time I shopped for floor standing loudspeakers, I put price off to the side and shopped with my ears ONLY. Once I was grabbed by the sound, I brought the budget into the picture. Many brands have their own “signature sound”, just more or less of it, depending on the pocketbook. Often, you can buy the cheaper model and mate it with the right sub. to bring it into the big leagues. That also allows you to drive the lesser model harder. Bill
