just got it in. I noticed some of the pieces of the words are bright while other parts dim. when its turned to setting 1 on dim parts of the words almost invisible while others not. not the end of the world but if they go out completely then im not going to be reading legible words.
the item is supposed to be under warranty . is the display on this covered? anyone else experience this ?

I assume you mean a DC-1 DAC from Emotiva. And also that you bought it used. I bought a used one early this year and when received the display exhibited the same characteristics you described. A picture of the display is attached. Look familiar? My unit is still under warranty and I contacted Emotiva about it. Here is the response I received: As the OLED panel is an organic material, there can be slight inconsistencies in the brightness. Additionally portions of the display can fade out over time with use. There is nothing that can be done on your end, however if this issue is bothersome enough it is something we can get in and take a look at.My warranty is good until late 2020, so I've not sent it in yet. It's been used over the course of this year and there has been no change in the display. Neither better no worse. I'll probably send it in sometime this year for warranty service. I agree that it's not the end of the world, just annoying. So I urge you to contact Emotiva tech support and review it with them. If you have a used unit and the remaining warranty has been transferred to you, it shouldn't be a problem other than not having it available for use while it's being serviced. Cheers! Chuck

thaTS exactly what mine is doing. I emailed them, it is under warranty until 2021 mid year. Id like it fixed as i may have to move it and well that crap looks wrong. the display should be working at least until out of warranty.
did they say they would actually fix it? it is bothersome to me and I am sure the next guy. ive seen some that did not have this so yes I want it to be that way too

Early OLED technology was not very reliable. Newer OLED stuff is supposed to be better. A DAC display, I wouldn't sweat, but a $2K TV, I might get upset about. But that's just me. If it bothers you, contact Emotiva.

its not so much a bother to me as it might be a negative to the next guy. the guy who sold it to me said he never noticed due to the placement was low and he didnt see the front view. I can accept that. but it doesnt look very good to be honest and I am not wanting to take a hit on the price over it. im still waiting on them to reply
