Santa (aka: Wife) delivered a new DAC for Christmas.
I only had a few scant hours with it before I had to revisit the Working World, and head out of Country on Work Assignment.
RME unit. What a Cool Rig!
In the Pro World..."Mysticism" doesn't cut it. Magical Capacitors, and Quantum Wire won't ever get past Engineering, or Finance. The Component either Shines, or...it is ignored.
I can't wait until my next Rotation home. That is a FINE piece of gear. 👍

Hey Guys,
I wish I had some Audio Review Poetry to share. I'm on travel, and my new DAC is thousands of Miles away.
You'll just have to wait to hear about "Inky Darkness", "Chocolatey Vocals", "Lingering Glissandos",and all the rest.
The RME has definitely gotten my interest. I think this Unit is the Way Forward. 👍
Side Note: Wife said: "But it's SO SMALL?!!"
Fellas, that is the LAST THING you'd want to hear from a Woman. 😉

It's the RME ADI-2 DAC FS.
This is "Half Rack" Compact Unit. External PS, etc from the Pro World with a Feature Set that makes so much other "Audiophile Gear" look like a DIY Project.
Remarkable Specs that have been verified by numerous Outside Tests.
I don't have enough experience with the Unit to go much farther than what others have said before me. My first hours with the Unit were Very Positive, and I can't wait to get Home...Do a Firmware Update, and Soak up some more Acappella!
Investigate further, then Buy.
This is your new DAC!

If you really want to freak yourself out, play the King's Singers, Cantus, The Nylons, etc.
Wow. There is a presence in those recordings that will make you sit Bolt Upright! 😊

I really look forward to getting home to simply REVEL in the UNFETTERED RESOLVE.
BOUNDLESS Soundstaging, and the Gentle lingering of Shimmering Reverberation Tails...
Chocolatey Vocals issuing forth into the Expanse of the Recording Venue, all SEDUCTIVELY intertwined with the most CAPTIVATING sense of Pace, Rhythm, amd Timing. (PRT)

Update!!!
With a bit of time here at home once again to play Audiophile, I'm totally in love with my new RME.
Not to throw Rocks at my old XDA-2!! The XDA was a Veteran of Countless hours of enjoyable listening. A very well-balanced unit that we enjoyed.
Technology has moved forward however, and the "Promise" of Digital audio is becoming a Reality. Noiseless, Distortionless playback places YOU in the Mastering Studio.
Or in the Front Row..
Cool Stuff Guys!!
Every Rose has it's Thorns however. Momma steals the Hot Seat. Good problem to have though. 😉
