Hey everyone! I've got an old XPA-2 Amp and I'm finding it won't fit into most stands for audio mostly due to the weight and depth of it. I'm not looking to spend more than a few 100 bucks on it and so far I'm thinking that Pangea Audio is my only bet. I'll need a 4 shelf system for the rest of my stuff too. So far I see this as my only option: www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PGVULRK Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. CB

CB You could use the bottom shelf of that rack, the XPA-2 is 3lbs over what they recommend so I would be cautious, but they usually rate them then actual capacity.

CB Because the XPA-2 is so heavy, having casters is a Godsend. I suggest going a bit over your current budget and get something that will make your audiophile life so much easier, the VTI AR series. They can handle the weight without any issue, VERY sturdy and look great too. I LOVE mine. If I had any complaint, it would be that the finish is very prone to scratching.

Forgot to mention mine is DIY from 3/4 MDF and 5/8 threaded rod with some of it covered by pex pipe that I painted blue, this picture isn't current to what I have on it but it can hold a lot of weight

Great adjust ability too if you don't use the pex pipe to cover the threaded rod, my stand, subs, acoustic panels, projector shelf and projector screen and the wall it is hung on are all DIY, saves a ton of cash going this route Chad

DIY or garage sales since price is your biggest obstacle to overcome here.

Sanus Euro (single wide). The stand comes with feet, spikes, or casters. You can buy a "base only" with a single shelf (ideal as an amp stand) or a set of four / five shelves:

Boomzilla has posted a great solution. I have a taller stand by the same manufacturer and had a XPA-2 on the bottom shelf. No problems. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. I bought an extra shelf. Pillars come in two lengths: 8" and 12.5" tall.
They also make a matching table style

Posted mine a couple of years ago in the "What does your room look like ..." I cut out ventilation and access holes in the back, sized to the device on the shelf. Emo gear , LR are now Stealth 6s so two UPA-1s are gone.

I am getting some Timbernation stands for my monoblocks but lots of great ideas in the thread! You my friend seem to have a lot of money to spare and there's nothing wrong with that. The rest of us not so much just keep that in mind when making suggestions. Just saying.
