I was lazy and never built grills... but then again, these speakers will ultimately go behind a screen, so there's no true need for them. For close to if not just over 20 years my B&Ws always had their grills on, but not because of curious kids, I didn't care for the yellow kevlar colored cone.

Yep, the poll is flawed!!! No correct answer for us Def Tech people. Or Golden Ear or Magnepan users either. Although I'm 100% certain any voicing changes required are factored into these speakers, so there is no detriment to having the socks on.

I have some Elac UF5 mains and in an interview with Andrew Jones, this topic came up and he stated the grills are never transparent and that they result in a about a 1db loss at the high end. I agree, for critical listening, it sounds best without.
