A personality will show up with cameras on and you have to dive in because of the compressed time table. RMC-2 is what we have all been referring to this unit for the past 6-8 months as the project name. We all kept catching ourselves calling it that lol.

Absolutely @hairnick I’ve been in that position so many times. You will error on occasion if you speak into a mic enough times! FACT! Some are little mistakes, as in this case, and some are bigger mistakes. If you never want to mispeake on the record I suggest you NEVER speak out loud. From a voice of, Been there Done that!

So does this explain why it appears Dan also misspoke when he said the RMC-2 would only be balanced for 3 channels? I believe the correct info is the RMC-2 (RMC-1L) will have all 16 channels fully balanced. It's the XMC-2 that will only have the LCR channels fully balanced. Or, did plans get changed?

But until Dan's video, thats not how it was supposed to be. Lonnie has been quoted multiple times saying the XMC-2 will be LCR balanced. And we have other info from Nick and Keith that the RMC-2 (RMC-1L) will be nearly identical to the RMC-1, minus the 3 expansion bays. That's what I'm trying to determine. Either Dan misspoke or things have changed.

It's almost standard fair for the subwoofer (LFE) channel to be balanced, it's just a given. So if said that 3 channels (meaning LCR) were balanced that would mean that in total there are 4 balanced channels (LCR + LFE).
Cheers Gary

Seems like they made some changes from Axpona 2018. I saw the XMC-2 back then and took pictures of it. That unit was LCR balanced and had the RMC-1 knob for $3499. Now that unit looks to be renamed RMC-2 at first then most recently RMC-1L. The XMC-2 most recently looks like the XMC-1 with Dolby Atmos. I really liked Lonnie’s input in this matter where the RMC-2 / RMC-1L is fully balanced on all channels for $3999. That would be the unit I’d most likely buy. It’s a bummer they didn’t finalize the name i.e. changed their mind on the name and specs prior to CES. Or maybe they did but not everyone got the memo. Either way, some concrete information would be most appreciated. The final version would be preferred thanks!

From what I'm gathering the RMC-1 L is balanced on only some of the channels versus the RMC-1 which is balanced on all channels.

All other previous info says otherwise. Hence why we need confirmation. Either Dan mispoke, which is very possible, OR, they have changed their minds, which in Emotiva land, is also highly possible. As of today, right now, none of us really knows for sure.

If you get confirmation now, they could change again. Unfortunately once it's on the website is really the only sure way.
