MC-700 Only Passing 720p from new Apple TV?

Hi All - I've got a new Apple TV 4k plugged into input 4 of my MC-700. I was getting a black screen with sound so I did the manual resolution adjustment on the Apple TV and the only resolution that will show up on the display is 720p. Every other option is the black screen.

Tried to go in through inputs 1-3 as well with the same result. 

Going directly through the TV allows for 1080p no problem. TV is a Samsung UN60J6300 60-Inch 1080p 2015 Model.

Any thoughts on why 1080p wouldn't pass through the MC-700 to the TV?

have you tried checking the resolution after a minute or two i been working with amazon on 4k firestick issues and there customer service has not been helpful but i found resolution switching all over the place started in 4k dropped to 720 went up to 1080 and consistently about a minute or so in it would finally get up to 4k but kept having to pull up the menu to check on the resolution maybe something similar
