Only one product in that line up that I liked, the Stealth 8. Then again I can't see paying that kind of money for a powered speakers when I can buy and amp and use it on my own speakers. At $499 those Stealth should go quick....almost as quick as Rory B did.

That there is a lot of amp and speaker for $499, another amazing price IMO, my Airmotiv 6s are unbelievable so I could only imagine the Stealth 8 capabilities, I mean yes it is a very large bookshelf but very good SQ I have with mine and the Stealth 6 I once owned.

That didn't take long to completely eliminate a line you just introduced. I really like the T2 and C2 speakers. IMO the T1 and T0 line just seem to be at such a cheap price point I can't imagine Emotiva making a ton of money on those. I personally don't know if Emotiva should even make speakers, but if they do it may make more business sense to have one line (the T2/C2) and the surrounds and keep it at that. At least at the $1000 price point for the T2 pair I would think there is enough profit in those speakers to make it worth it for Emotiva to produce. You have to think on something like the T0 @$500 for the pair by the time Emotiva pays for the shipping (free to the purchaser, but Emotiva pays that cost to UPS/FedEx at say maybe $75ish total) there is not a lot of actual sale price left to make a decent cash profit. The BasX amps on the other hand make more sense to me. They are designed to be an entry level amp for people to purchase and then feel better stepping up into the XPA series down the line. And since those amps have for the most part not really changed in years (even though the model numbers have changed) most of the R&D cost has already been paid for.

I don't understand why Emotiva is dumping this line as it has gotten good reviews and priced aggressively. Airmotiv subs I say are not competitive with the likes of SVS, Rythmik and HSU.

I agree with your first point David. I think Emotiva should stick to amps and preamps and forget about everything else. They built this company on good quality bang for the buck amps. They have now priced themselves into the same territory of much stronger competition than they were once in. I think the speakers are taking time away from concentrating time spent on improving their amps and maybe even getting the price point down.
Another roll out of a not-ready-to-go processor isn't helping their cause. Three CES in a row now I feel Dan has bitten off more than he and Emotiva can chew. In my personal experience I see people leaving Emotiva in droves. They may say to us that their sales are strong but I can tell you from inclusion in many audio groups people are turned off, and are turning away.
Time to sit down and put some thinking into the direction this company wants to go before it is too late. ToneWinner for example, that produced Emotiva amps for years are now selling their own amps here in North America cheaper than Emotiva is able to do. I would love to say I will continue to be loyal to Emotiva but I feel they need to get their product, and their customer straight.

I would love to say I will continue to be loyal to Emotiva but I feel they need to get their product, and their customer straight. I bought my first Emo product in February 2009, an XPA-3. What a great amp at a great price! Since then I've bought all kinds of gear from them and became a big fan. No other company could touch them when it came to value, and the price/quality ratio. The only product I ever had trouble with was the UMC-1. Still, I stuck with it and finally they got most of the bugs ironed out. My source inputs were pretty simple so for the most part it worked fine although it still had some bugs. Later I got the Sherbourn 7030, which I still have and it worked just fine, and after that, the XMC-1. That has worked fine for me also and I haven't encountered any bugs. That said, I have to agree that I think Emo should have stuck with simpler stuff because they did that really well. I think processors are too labor and time intensive and best left to much larger companies that are able to devote dedicated resources to just that line. With all the changes rapidly taking place and all the device compatibility issues that arise, it has got to put a strain on any company, even more so on the relatively smaller ones. While my XMC-1 has worked well for me, my setup is simple. I haven't purchased any upgrade boards and I've read plenty of complaints regarding those. I've also read lots of complaint posts on the RMC-1. While some have pointed out that Emo is by no means the only company with problems like that and much larger ones have problems too but it just isn't publicized as much, that isn't a valid argument of support since problems are problems. Just because a larger company has problems doesn't make it okay for a smaller one to have them, too. I just wonder how cost effective it is to continue with processors and also to broaden the product lines. Of course I speak from ignorance not knowing what the financial results look like or having any sort of inside scoop but this comes from observations of what gets posted in the Lounge. It just seems to me like what Teaman says, it might be a case of biting off more than one can chew.

IMHO, the Airmotiv speaker line is great and it's sales could have benefited from improved looks and multiple finishes/colors.

IMHO, the Airmotiv speaker line is great and it's sales could have benefited from improved looks and multiple finishes/colors. One thing is for sure, love them or hate them, the look as is, is most certainly controversial. I think one cool thing about Tekton speakers is the ability to get any color you want. So I think you are right. If wood is off the table, and you are using a painted surface anyway, offering up different colors and even custom colors (for a price) and gloss vs matte would be really cool. Tekton can do it for a reasonable price, so why not Emotiva. I just can't get my head around these products being gone already. It's flat out weird. Can sales really be that slow?

That didn't take long to completely eliminate a line you just introduced. The Airmotiv line is still around, we're just discontinuing a few models. Based on a few factors, but mainly popularity, we've streamlined Airmotiv. So instead of two tower models, we have one - the T2. The "1" models are really great, and many of the models have very strong reviews to back them up. We're sad to see them go, but in the long run I think we are supporting the line and products that people want most. We are eliminating choice confusion, and also making room for new things - doubling down on products we can't keep in stock, and working on new products - as always. Also - another big win for Airmotiv fans. Some of the models that are here to stay are getting lower everyday pricing.

As long as I have been purchasing Emotiva equipment (first purchase in 2009) that has always been the case. When a part of the line doesn't sell at a level that makes good business sense, it is logical to trim down the offerings to that which makes good sense to offer. I applaud Emotiva for doing what's necessary to keep their business running well. tchaik...........

The Stealth 8 is a flat out stupid steal at $998 pair. I’m listening to the SACD version of Ghost in the Machine through my pair as I’m typing this. I have to find the money to get a back up pair ASAP.

So I just was moving things around and plugged the usb cable into my Little EGO and the USB jack broke off inside sheesh, do you still have any Little EGO's left in stock, I seen some up on the ebay page a bit ago.
