I got this about a week ago and it sure has improved listening to music from my pc as well as headphones and I even connected a turntable as well as an older Pioneer dvd player that plays sacd and really enjoying it in my 2.0 set-up.
But the interface is not that great and I wished their were more buttons on the front as well as the remote for control especially for the tuner.

Yep DX'ing or tuning was not first on the list here. But the TA-100 has allot of goodness in it. Related to the A-100, an awesome thing, and able to get you where most would like. Would like to see more bass management, and a chunkier remote. Yeah those metal remotes. I just love 'em. Also a clear plexglass top so I could see inside. I like the layout inside.

I also have the TA-100 for my studio desktop system which replaced another component that at the time it was purchased retailed for roughly 5 X the cost of the TA-100. To my ears the TA-100 sounds noticeably better. The moral of the story is: as always price does not even enter into the equation of how well any component will perform or sound in this industry. I have experienced this countless times especially with Emotiva products.
However I do agree with other negative comments regarding the remote which is poorly thought out as well as the user interface especially the FM tuner section being downright awful. Otherwise it performs extremely well.

View AttachmentI have that same Pioneer. Used it as my main DVD Player for several years. Another good example of something not having to cost a lot to sound good. It plays DVD-A too, of which I have about ten discs. |
