I found the culprit, the stupid preamp,lol, had the left and right channels as large, which is weird, I never, never, set them as large, set them back as small, played them loud, for hours and, perfect so far, keeping those babies..

Glad you figured it out. I'm a big fan of the Def Tech sound and glad that it was something easily fixable. Just got the new Sound & Vision today. Golden Ear (Sandy Gross) has a new smaller reference speaker called the Triton 1.R. $6000 a pair but supposedly fills like 99% of it's bigger brother's more expensive shoes. Similar to my Def Tech 7001 vs the 7000. 7001 was the value king at $3500 vs $5000 for the 7000.

Playing large is okay for a bookshelf. But its additional demands in the bass does mean that it will be taking more power and more strain. It was probably too much for the Deftech at those volumes.
