my buddy chip (who is on disability and short of funds) has been in desperate need of decent equipment for the last few years to the point that his system was inoperable just a couple years ago. someone on the forum donated a NAD power amp when his 30 year old carver gave up the ghost. another friend of his gave him a pt-100 pre-amp for his birthday when his 30-some year old rotel pre-amp became too unreliable to use any more. his speakers were DIY units built in the late eighties and showing their age in both sound and looks. his denon CD player from about 1995 worked intermittently or not at all. he had been trying to save up for a pair of T-2's that we would get when we go to the May emofest but he felt that was financially overly ambitious and unfeasable.... so i ordered a pair of T-1's when they went on closeout to see how they would sound. I was going to get them for my side surrounds and chip and i would do an all day listening session to see if they would work well as his main speakers. all I can say is OMG........ they are truly amazing. 
such a huge big 'little' speaker. most of you have read the reviews and they are all true. at $700 they are a good bargain. at $500 closeout they are a steal.. when we finished our listening session at my house, we boxed up the speakers and toted them over to his place to set up. btw... I sold him my cd-100 since I was not using it in the piano room.
CHIP IS NOW A PROUD OWNER OF 4 EMOTIVA PRODUCTS. YES HE HAS THE TOASTER TOO.
AND HE IS AT A SONIC LEVEL THAT HE HAS NEVER ACHIEVED UP UNTIL NOW. 
note in one of the pictures the DIY speakers we used to call the ESL 32's. evans, sission, laisure and the speakers were designed with an F3 of 32 hz.
btw... before we took the T-1's over to his house we made one more speaker order so I can have my side surrounds back. now all I need is the RMC-2
