I've been a Parasound fanboy for almost a decade. Love their gear.

How does the older models like the one linked above compare to the new models? That FB link does not resolve for me - what is the model number? Any Parasound product with circuitry designed by John Curl, who truly is a legend, is likely to impress, regardless of age.

Yep, many of the HCA and HALO line products have circuitry by John Curl and offer remarkably clean high frequencies. The highs are their differentiator to my ears.
I have rather efficient speakers so most of their amps are overkill but I like their sound so I keep with them.

I googled these amps, and they seem to review really well. A/B rated.

It's probably a scam. Good prices though

Good thing I live thousands of miles away or I'd be tempted to buy both!

I have one I bought used years ago. I use it every day in my den setup. Never any problems with it!

I've been a Parasound fanboy for almost a decade. Love their gear. How does the older models like the one linked above compare to the new models? Night and day between the older HCA and Halo series. The Halo amps are much more refined in the mids, better bass control and smoother highs. I've done back to back comparos with an HCA 3500 and Halo A21 and the Halo amp just crushed it.
Back in the day the HCA was very desirable amp but the Halo series was a substantial upgrade even though Parasound "cheaped out" on some items that Curl thought were important to put in. Scott

Thanks Scott. Appreciate the response.
