This question fits well here.
I have my Turntable (Technics SL-23) hooked up and all adjusted. Plays fabulous through PT-100 , XPA2 and my Klipsch speaker.
About mono.. I have a few.. How does this work with my setup. Do I have to buy a mono cartridge and needle, or is there a way to play in mono by adjusting the PT100? Looking through owner's manual but can't find anything.

Just play it like you would any other record
When you play a mono record on a stereo setup, each channel gets the same information from the cartridge. When the signal comes out of the speakers, you get a mono, centered image - the same as if you had a dedicated mono setup and a single speaker.

Ok great. Yeah I played a mono album (I haven't heard it in ages).. was testing out the TT NovisNick gave me and couldn't even remember how I played mono albums back then. Anyway it played fine.
Cleaned up all the moving parts inside the TT and DeoxIT sprayed a couple parts, worked them really well and now the speeds lock in solid.
This TT is gonna be just fine.

Some folks turn their first turntable into a mono table when they purchase their second! Mono on mono is killer.

I read an easy solution is to use two Y rca cables.. 1st set of Y wires from TT combines two channels into one, and then the second set takes the combined signal and sends it into the l and r inputs of the receiver or preamp. So basically buy a Y rca with with 1 male to 2 females and a set of 1 female to 2 males.
They say this makes a big difference with noise and overall sound.
Or buy a mono cartridge and head shell, and swap out when needed.
A couple of hifi forums explained why this is better than playing a mono album with 2 channel needle.
Another option was if there was a way to select mono mode on amp (or preamp) which neither of my emotive pieces have. (Pt 100 and xpa2)
