So he got the turntable for free but is not a sponsored video? Free and unsponsored don't go together in my book.

I have had all 3 of the Ortofon cartridges they have on their TT. I settled on the blue. Each one was a noticeable difference moving up. Evventually most of us in the hobby get curious and upgrade the cartridge. Once I got to the blue I was very happy with the sound. Good luck !! Mark

I've had mine since last year but can't remember what I paid plus I'm in Canada so it's a bit more due to exchange rate and customs fees. Chad

Chad Well I have seen some go for upwards of more than $400 American Dollars which I think is a lot for something that was supposed to be a budget turntable.

Just for fun I bought a Nagaoka MP-110 for about $130 since hearing so much about it. Let’s just say that the blue is collecting dust. The blue sounds compressed and slow compared to the 110. Dynamics and instrument placement in the soundstage is astounding. I also run the VTF at 1.9g on both which seemed like the sweet spot for me. Paired with a Schiit Mani and I’m happy. Good luck on YOUR journey! Brad

Well once you go with the acrylic platter and Ortofon 2M Blue nothing is considered budget, the custom table is what I built and I went fully decked out so yeah no longer budget but that's why you have options to keep it priced low so they still have budget options, I'm not sure what I am missing here, they start at $179 which seems pretty sweet

They even charge you $40 for the tonearm cue level...🙄

The Nagaoka MP-150 is even better but the price has gone up on it recently, so not as easy to recommend as it used to be. I have owned the Fluance RT-81 and it was the original model with the problem with the speed variation. That has been fixed with newer models with new motor. Tone arm is not bad for a budget table. Automatic stop is nice feature . I recommend the RT-82 through RT-85
