Trying to figure out where to best use my amps on the next pair of speakers I have coming from Legacy. They are 4 way speakers with internal amps covering everything but the tweet/super tweets.
Freq response 12 Hz - 30 kHz.
I can use my Pass mono blocks on either the mids or the tweets but not both per the designer Bill. Reason has to do with new tech in the speakers and how the DSP utilizes each crossover point. (all goodies above my paygrade and I trust Bill implicitly) Internal amplification:
Sub bass 1kW amp Bass 750W Mids 500W Ambient Array 500W Tweets would be customers amp
I'm leaning toward using my amps on the mids as the Pass amps sound like great tube amps particularly in the mid range.
The AMT tweet/super tweets are very smooth and should sound fine on Legacy supplied amp, I'm thinking.
Any opinions greatly appreciated. Well....almost all. Scott

I agree with your analysis. Use the toobey-sounding amps for the mids. Valors look pretty damn sweet by the way.

Wow. Going for the Valors. Amazing. You definitely have more Toy Money than I do. I was already envious of your Aeris ...

Bill It's getting close to completion. Just finishing wiring as we replaced all the wiring with a complete resto kit. Rear diff is next and she should be coming home; stoked! Scott

Biggest worry is setting them up. Forget crated, the speakers alone are near 300 lbs each.

I thought my mains were imposing (I did buy a hand truck for them). The weight....the mains and My Velodyne HGS 18 COMBINED, comes out to 315 Lbs. Bill

I'm a slender 6' and 170 lbs but up until a few years ago was heavily involved in the construction aspect of our properties. Now I let the younger gents knock themselves out although I do miss the strength conditioning. I am not nearly as strong as I was a few years ago.
