Just wanted to share my experience. I was using an Onkyo Tx series 777 receiver which didn't have RCA preamps. So I used a line level converter from speaker to RCA. My Emotiva Gen 3 5 amp had a very low hum at zero volume which could be heard through the speakers. I then replaced my Onkyo TX 777 with an Onkyo PR 5100 which is their flagship minus built in amp. The 5100 receiver has both RCA and XLR so I tried the RCA first and was disappointed in the very low audible hum at zero volume. Replacing my RCA with XLR resulted in a totally zero noise sound floor. I was very impressed by the quality of the cables for the reduced close-out pricing.
Question, is close out pricing same as clearance? Will Emotiva continue to sell these XLR cables at a later date? If not I might just order up some to stock up for future expansion.

You'd have to ask Emotiva if they'll reveal their future product plans. To me, "close out" means they are clearing them out, but whether they are dropping the product line or coming out with new models (of cables? hmph...) I could not say.
Most any decent XLR cable will work fine. The lack of noise is due to the balanced connection isolating ground. I actually prefer to use mic cables as they are well-shielded, flexible, and fairly inexpensive. I usually use ProCo cables from Sweetwater Sound, sometimes Canare or Mogami, and there are lots of XLR cable vendors around. So no fears if Emotiva decides to drop cables -- it is a crowded market and not their main focus.

We are "getting out of the cable business" - at least for now.
Selling cables requires us to keep in stock, and keep track of, a long list of what are essentially small items. (You may have noticed that we always seemed to be out of various types and lengths.) Therefore, at least for the forseeable future, we will no longer be selling regular cables. (Although we may continue to sell one or two more or less special multi-cable "snakes".) We may also consider partnering with some cable manufacturer, or even offering cables again, at some point in the future.
However, for now, we are clearing out most of our cables, and what you see listed is the last of them.
(So we don't expect any re-stock on any of the ones we're showing as "clearance" items.)

Thanks Don and Keith! I ordered up 4 more XLR just for the cosmetic uniformed cables for future expansions.

Does anyone have a recommendation for XLR cables?
It seems like the choices are Cable Matters on Amazon, super cheap, Mono Price, or super expensive hi-fi stuff.

While I prefer the Emotiva XLR's and since they are on closeout, when I need more I will be going with ProAudioLA. You can choose between different Mogami and Canare cables with your choice of XLR connectors. www.proaudiola.com/XLR-microphone-cables-s/169.htm

If you check with local music / guitar shops - many will sell XLR type cables for microphone use. (Most professional sound-reinforcement systems / mixers use XLR cables for microphone-level signals in order to minimize noise / interference) I would expect these to be durable and made with properly-shielded cable Here is an example: www.fullcompass.com/category/accessories/cables-snakes/balanced-cables/xlr-to-xlr/They carry various house and budget brands - but also my "go-to's" = Mogami & Canare I have also sourced cables and other items from Pro Co Audio - they make nice wall plates with whatever kind of connectors you want on 'em. Their middle-of-the-road XLR microphone cables are pretty decent, and made with Neutrik quality connectors: www.procosound.com/product/385/evolution-mic

I use mainly Pro Co from Sweetwater Sound (www.sweetwater.com), with a few Canare and Mogami around. Mostly Neutrik connectors with a smattering of Amphenol and Switchcraft. I will not buy Hosa again. Back when I was doing live sound and recording I had a duffle bag full; only a handful left now not in use in my system.

Noticed Emotiva closing out XLR cables with only the 5 meter cables left. I only need 6 foot cables. If I buy the 5 meter cables do I risk losing any quality from the longer runs. They are at a great price.

They are at a great price. Personally I wouldn’t have extra cable laying around for just a good price, but with balanced cables you probably won’t hear the difference.
