I have my XSP-1 connected in HT bypass mode to a Marantz AV-7704 processor, and I'm starting to get some odd glitches. Everything is working perfectly fine, but during the playback of an Atmos-encoded film, randomly, my L/C/R channels would stop working. No buttons were pressed in the remote, and the entire system config is proven to be working fine. The problem is immediately solved when I power cycle the XSP-1.
I tried power cycling the Maranz, or the media source, but none of those produced any fixes. This happened 4 times in a 2-hour movie.
I have not observed this behavior in non-Atmos encoded films, so I'm very puzzled, and I tend to mistrust the Marantz processor here, given the center channel is not touched by the XSP-1, but the fact is that when I reset the XSP-1, everything is back to normal.
Does anyone have any hypothesis on what could be causing this behavior?
Thanks!

That is really odd. I can't think of a single reason that would make any sense that the XSP-1 could have any impact on the center channel. Well, unless you have cats and they went down and maliciously re-wired your system so the center channel goes through the XSP-1?
In another question...are you 100% sure your center is working even when the FR/FL are?

Thanks Mark,
I'm attempting to replicate the problem to confirm 100% the center channel is also affected. I'm pretty certain it was, but I rather get full confirmation. The issue has not reappeared yet. I played a different movie yesterday also with Atmos decoding, and the problem did not manifest. I'll report back what I can find. Thanks again!

The cats probably went and re-wired it back right when you weren't looking. Cats are tricky critters...
