Depends on the room. My very asymmetric room with 8 walls, and a ceiling peaked off center is pretty easy for bass. I don't have any major proglems with the lowest octave in that room....and it's maybe 4000 cubic feet. A cubic or regular rectangle CAN benefit from multiple subs, for sure. Break up those nodes! So, I don't have any problem with multiple subs. The SB16 Ultra is VERY ambitious and 3 of 'em should about rattle your fillings out in anything less than a Very Large space...... My question was aimed more at a 'do you know WHY you did that' rather than the potential benefits. If somebody just wanted LOUDED or DEEPER than you might find an easier way or for less $$$
