ERC-2 players will not play all variations of the Red Book layer of an SACD. I found this out at Emofest one year as it was hit and miss with the SACDs I brought that year. The ERC-1 and 3 will play all variations.

I recall some borderline misinformation on the ERC-3 page when it launched with the term SACD in a paragraph.
