There isn’t much information on outdoor speakers. I would like to know what you guys are running for your backyard set up’s. I currently just bought Revel outdoor speakers. Anyone have or heard them? My runner ups were Klipsch aw650 Def techs aw6500 Jbl control 29-1

I just bring my Anker Bluetooth out and I’m all set. Water is more important than sound quality if you’re doing an outdoor installation. Beyond that, if you can hear an outdoor speaker....it’s a good speaker.

I have the Def Techs AW6500 running off of an A-300. They are on my patio pointed out towards the pool. They work really well and a decent amount of bass for being an outdoor speaker. I've been really happy with them.

Looking at finally installing some outdoor speakers this year. I have some small JBL outdoor speakers that I will hookup to an BasX A-100 and hook up my old Apple Airport Express as the input so I can set the amp to Auto and Airplay.

I have 2 pair of Def Tech 5500's. 1 pair runs off an old Rotel Amp (Sonos Connect as source). Those play to my pool.
The other pair run off a Sonos Amp to my deck area.
Love them, and the Rotel provides the extra "kick" I need for the big open space of my pool.

I've been really happy with them. Everyone keeps pointing me Towards the deftechs. But I decided to go with the revel and see how the quality is. There not cheap but hoping it will be worth it. Just can’t find one review on them! There so many on the def tech and klipsch but nothing on the revel. These are them. I was going for a 2 channel “hifi” sound. Smoking a cigar have a drink and relaxing to some music. Fingers crossed. www.crutchfield.com/p_265M80XCB/Revel-M80XC-Black.html

That 8" woofer intrigues me. I do find that the Def Techs need a decent amount of power to run them, I have to turn the gain on my Marantz fairly high (50ish from 0-85) for them to open up. But when they open up they sound great. I can actually play them pretty loud if I was inclined to and they still sound really good, but the neighbors would not be huge fans, lol. I do really enjoy just sitting outdoors though and having a glass of wine when I cook and listing to some music. I find myself really looking for any excuse I can now to grill.

I can’t wait for this weather to break in NY. so I can set it all up. I ordered a denon x2400 to run it of and see how it works but I might get an amp if needed.

I run it all via control 4 and amps.. mostly. Wife approved - she’s a big user of the app and it rarely ever fails to work. I’ve spent way more than I care to comment though .

Haha all that matters is she approves. I used to program for control 4. Love there stuff. Use to work for dealer so he use to give me stuff for free to try out and get working and learn. Miss those days.

I've never owned a set - but I've heard several sets of speakers by Rockustics in commercial installations (don't know if they're still there - but several sets were installed around dining / event areas at Great America in Gurnee) They seemed to hold-up well and blend-in with pretty darned good sound, and now they have a Sub to complement a variety of Satellites. From the sound that I heard - I'd say that it's safe to assume that their design is MUCH more than just a/some speakers shoved-into a fake rock enclosure. An educated guess points to some serious Engineering at play in material and driver selection and other acoustic factors. rockustics.mseaudio.com/

I crank these things and they rock, I've always had good power behind them though, they go loud and sound really good doing it, like I said though good power is a must, I ran them off a little 10 watt class d amp for a bit and didn't go very loud before distorting.
