Hello,
Recently acquired a truly mint upa-7.
I have been listening to an HK-AVR520 for five or more years.
My speakers are B&W 602s3, 601s3,lcr60s3 and a asw600.
My primary sources are Att Uverse hd, a 60GB color photo IPOD,
and the tuner section of the receiver.
I really enjoyed this setup. I belong to an audio group and have heard systems that are REALLY high priced. There was a difference in listening but just not enough for me to make any changes.
OK, so I got this UPA heavy amp thing. I have lurked and participated at some audio sites and I read a lot. As you age you start to read a lot more.
Had to have my son-in-law (good guy) help me lift the amp into position.
I also installed a ET-3 which turns on the amp 3-4 seconds after the amp is pwrd up. But the LEDS- blinding, so I pushed so it is out of site but I still see the glow.
Listening to the new!
I know pyscho-acoustics is probably influencing me but I will try to be as objective as possible without using any, or to much, current jargon.
What I and my old ears have found:
Background sounds and voices are more pronounced or clearer.
My turn on volume is louder-have avr set to -45.
Bass wo the sub seems more realistic.
The overall sound is more enveloping, fuller or bigger.
Voices in the CC seem/are clearer.
Have set my Bass/Treble controls to 0 (no boost or cut).
I may boost treble a bit in the future, (old ears you know) but i like it
wo any boost.
Quiet passages are silent.
I am hearing things I have not heard before (or not listening as
close as I use to).
That's it I've always enjoyed my system but now, even more so.
Thank you Neekos.
Thank you EMOTIVA.
I think the amp looks really classy wo the brushed end pieces.
Might look nice with a color.
Hey EMO are you reading this?
Regards to all,
Ron526
