Hi All,
My issue is when I power on the XMC-1 and my HDMI device (XBox, NVIDIA Shield, etc.) that there is no sound. All I hear is a high frequency hum from my speakers. If I unplug the XMC-1 and plug it back in so it does a full reboot all of the sound works. I am not sure of the name of the feature but I'm using the "quick on" function so it will just remain in standby when powered off.
My XMC-1 has version 2 HDMI board running the latest v5.4 firmware. The issue does not happen all the time, but frequently enough to cause me a headache.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

The feature is: Menu: Advanced Setup: Standby: Video Remains On
Maybe try powering off in a different order. Also, because the handshake can take some time, try testing with 30 seconds of waiting before the next item is powered off. Yes, it's excessive, but when I change inputs it takes between 13-18 seconds so I tossed in some extra time.

I recently (last month) upgraded to the V3 board and will occasionally get what you're describing. For me, usually just switching HDMI inputs gets it to work. Every now and then, a full reboot (turn off unit, flip switch in back, wait 10-15 seconds, start up) corrects the issue.
I spoke to Lonnie about this at AXPONA last weekend and there's a new firmware that is supposed to hit within the next week or so that should reduce, or better yet correct, the issue.

Hey jj1127,
I was having this same issue with both 5.4 and 5.6 firmware. To resolve it, I set a delay in the power-up order of my components. Whether I'm using DirecTV, my Oppo BDP, or my PS4, I make sure that both they, and my TV, are completely powered on, before initiating the powering on of my XMC-1, in turn, my XPA-5 and UPA-2.
Good luck!
