Is this true for non-Atmos movies - i.e. DTS-HD/TruHD. DD and DTS 5.1 would be a bonus, but HD would be my real focus. And can Dolby surround be used on dts content. I'm one of the few that doesn't particularly like neural x. When I played 4K/Atmos disks on the XMC-1 with the V3 card, but no Heights, I thought the DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD sounded great! I attribute this to better ‘base layer’ mastering on these disks. I haven’t gone back and listened without height speakers so I can’t answer directly, but when recently I played the Harry Potter disks with my heights set to middle and nothing coming out, the base layer sounded as good as ever, maybe better (it improved even more with the correct height setting). We can only hope that we’ll eventually be able to use the Dolby and DTS upmixers with either source.

I thought the limitation was that you can use Dolby upmixer on both but not dts upmixer on Dolby sources.

Has anyone received their email with the mailing label yet? Thinking about boxing up the XMC-1 this weekend! Given Emo's history of optimistic timelines, I'll wait until I get the label before I box it up. I am gathering all the parts and accessories, to be ready. Sincerely /b When I called, I was told to just wait till I received my email with shipping label before boxing the XMC-1. I have all the original packing material including the remote, mic, mic cable and antenna. Makes my wife angry, but I never throw anything out. I would label your cables and take pics of the back of your unit to hopefully make connections easier.

Unfortunately my use-case is all non 4k Blurays, so I'm very curious if anyone can hear a difference between the 1 and 2 for those. Of course, if the newer Dirac (when it comes out) is superior to the original Dirac, that would also be a factor, regardless of source material.

I was lucky enough to be included in the first wave of the upgrade program. So far the only thing that has happened is that my credit card has been charged $1050 (even though I have the v3 HDMI card, a refund will be issued after they check out my XMC-1). I have received no further communication (no return shipping label or instructions). So I am not happy that I have been charged $1K and have nothing to show for it. I was under the impression that your card is charged when they ship the product. In this case, that is a long way off since I have not even received the shipping label for my XMC-1. Curious as to what others have experienced?

Same, but they did say to wait 10 days for the label and instructions. It's been 9, so I'm not stressing...yet.

Waiting like the rest.

Called Emotiva and was told it will be the middle of next week before the instructions/shipping label goes out.

Today was the release for the upgrade from XMC-1 to the RMC-1L so I went this route. I have the V3 board purchased separately so it'll be 1651 total for my upgrade.

Hair Nick: Is there any indication as to how many such rounds we might get? I am trying to strategize on how long I should consider it reasonable to keep my XMC-1 before sending it in for the upgrade. I can get the upgrade now, but there is really no rush, since I do not have atmos, and am enjoying the XMC-1 as is, as it fulfills all my current needs. Ideally I would like to spend Christmas with it--at the very least-- before sending it off for the upgrade, if possible. Let me know.

Wow. Round 2 sold out already. No sh**. I attempted to submit my order less than 30 minutes after the e-mail hit my mail box and received notice while submitting payment info that there were no more available. So am I going to get another e-mail when the "limited quantities" become available again? What's the point if I have to consummate the order in less than 30 minutes from when Emotiva sends notification? I don't know the best way to handle this, but they way you are doing it is guaranteed to piss of a lot of customers...or is that the intent?

We will keep going as long as they are selling out like these last two batches if I had a guess. We want to make sure we are able to take care of everyone on the list.

Not sure it really matters how what round you get in on. I got in on the first round on 15 OCT and like the rest I still don't have a shipping label and instructions. Basically, you have to act quick to pay your $1050 (+tax) so you can advance to the next queue. On the bright side, if it goes slow enough maybe they will be able to install Dirac before it ships out to me. Until them I'll keep enjoying my XMC-1. It's been a great unit.

We are removing people who purchase from the master list so they aren't getting a notification when they are available again. I will say that the notification list is huge because it really is an incredible deal.
