This is Schiity news.
The Saga S and the Freya+ seem especially compelling.
I imagine their turntable will be launched within a few months as well.

Yeah, I think they have been working on a turntable for a year, maybe two.

So looks like what they did was they took the Saga and then made it A $100 MORE EXPENSIVE with the Saga +. For "Saga+ uses DC heaters for the tube buffer stage, which provides a lower noise floor when in buffer mode." That's the only "significant" difference I note. Then the price point of the original Saga ($300) they took out the tube stage making it purely solid state. The Freya they also increased the price about a $100 with the Freya +. For the original Freya price they also took out the tube stage. The Freya S appears to be different in that it uses a new type of circuitry.
More concerning is their "preamp thunderdome" really means - "shortlived products". Means - less long term support. You bought your preamp and it gets discontinued two weeks later? Preamp Thunderdome!

TT? Wow.. blows me away at how vinyl keeps going and going. Yeah, vinyl is on fire. I drop by Amoeba Records (Berkeley) every few Saturdays for browsing therapy and every time there are people buying stacks of new and used LPs.

Preamp Thunderdome! Having said that I am now interested in the solid state freya. It’s performance looks extremely good

Glad I bought the XSP instead of the freya! one of my vallhallas already crapped the bed. Obviously Schiit happens, but it’s only 1 month old with maybe 8 hours of use! C’mon!

I find Saga+ and Freya S compelling. Crazy right?
I have to sleep on this one. Supposedly my Gungnir DAC is better from its Balanced Outputs and Freya S would be a natural.
Although, I like the Saga+ with its one tube to play around with. Also can bypass the tube if the mood suits.
So do I want to add a tube pre to my SS rig or squeeze some more performance out of my DAC... These kinds of things keep me up at night.
Loop7- looks like we are on the exact oposite wavelength.
Jason agrees with you he thinks Saga S and Freya+ will sell the best.

I thought you had already ordered a Freya? I did. It was out of stock for the longest time and they kept pushing the date back, so I decided to try an XSP1 from one of the forum members. Haven’t had a chance to run it through the paces yet.
