Someone gave me this EP from Elton John.. Not going to be able to play it for a couple of days. Looks interesting.. the cover and vinyl are like brand new. Front.. Back.. Has anyone ever heard this? Only familiar with one song.

Never heard that album. I know Tumbleweed Connection & Madman Across the Water ('70 & '71) which I really enjoyed. That must be his 2nd album.

Only familiar with one song. Your EP was a 1979 wide release (Although recorded in 1977) originally featuring just three tracks. The "Complete Thom Bell Sessions" was released on vinyl and CD in 1989 and contains 3 additional tracks recorded at the same time, plus all of the tracks are in their original 1977 Thom Bell mixes. (The 1979 release EP you obtained had remixes supervised by Elton)

How was this LP? Was it in good shape? Did you like it? Good sounding LP.. had a top40 hit on it. Great music.. but only 3 songs. As another post says… later on a “complete” edition was released. Basically a salute to the “Philly Sound” (something I read about, and not familiar with).

Funny to revive this old thread.. but there’s some nostalgic videos on YouTube of the recording sessions: youtu.be/zSW5fl3YnRw

From memory, “The Philly Sound” was from the days when groups or singular artists were found singing on the street corners. Philly was once a Mecca for popular music played on the radio nation wide.
