As I look to trade up my XMC-1 to the RMC-1 or RMC-1L, I would love to see Emotiva offer a smaller, fully differential Mono block amplifier with a form factor similar to the XPA-1L.
It could offer half the power of the XPA-1DR and would allow me to take advantage of the fully differential capabilities of the RMC-1. Maybe in the $800 range.
If this was available as a product, you could have XPA-1DR for Front, Center, Left. Then XPA-1LDR for all surround channels, all full differentially balanced and isolated (1 amp per channel). Wouldn’t get much better that that

Which begs the question: Are there plans to follow this up with a Monoblock version with the Differential Reference 2-Board Module = "DR-1"? Oops - sorry for the redundancy. I posted this from the "Latest Posts" thread and did not see the others asking my same question |

Exactly, could even have a smaller switching power supply as the target is power all but the main speakers (Surround / height) which wouldn’t need quite so much power

I would be curious to see inside the smaller amp. The DR-1 takes two blade spaces on the XPA amp, so I’m not sure you could fit the two blades plus the power supply in the HC-1 case.
