I find emo's updates very confusing now. New update 5.8 wont go back to 4.0. Plus how do i tell which hdmi 2.0 board do i have? ( I think its the hdmi v2 board) SO i can only go up to firmware version 5.2? I check the front of my xmc-1 and the only thing i can tell is its on Version 4.0. Which is what came with the unit. Would appreciate someone help. Plus how is there no youtube video to do an update? m usicguy

The v2 board with its single hdmi 2.0 port should definitely not be upgraded with v3 firmware ; that board is for UHD with hdcp2.2 and HDR metadata .. Someone with an XMC1 can hopefully sort you out on the version 4.0 issue and whether you may need to call Emo ..

If it came with 4.0, you have the original board most likely. Tech support will give you the procedure to follow now with the firmware version that automatically detects the board in your unit. Don’t look for an outside source like YouTube for a fix here. Bill

Note - only update your firmware if you're experiencing a problem that is fixed in a later version. If you are trouble-free, leave it as is.
