But it has breathtaking clarity and musicality, so there's that.

What's scary about it is that the seller has 100% positive feedback! I think he just hired this guy...

But it has breathtaking clarity and musicality, so there's that. If they say it then it must be true, so how do I install this between my cd player and TA-100, I'm needing some clarity boost Oh and when I get the XMC-2 should I get one between the Ethernet switch and the XMC-2 would it improve 2ch clarity on all sources Being the same cost as an actual XMC-2 I would have to assume the profits are the same as in R&D is equal and cost of manufacturing and building the cables as well is equal, assuming of course the cat7 cable is built by ants in a ant farm manufacturing facility in the USA

'High End Electronics' says it all. The super rich do not want to own anything that the 99% can afford, but they are sensitive to being called idiots. So they demand high technofunk marketing declarations to justify the equipment they buy. They delight in threads like this which reinforce their exclusivity.

It is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Not to me personally but it may be for someone else. Just grab a nice glass of red, press play and enjoy the music instead.

But it has breathtaking clarity and musicality, so there's that. Would you give $3k to get that clarity?

I see my sense of satire is wasted here.

Not trying to start a cable debate thread as those are highly overdone haha, I just find it crazy at the price of some of this stuff, I mean a 1 meter Cat 7 the same cost as a XMC-2 processor, I mean does anyone actually think the value is there, I guess if your a billionaire who cares but still

Basically a glorified CAT5 cable. Last checked they didn't sell any, but I wasn't exactly keeping track either. It's amazing what people will believe about digital audio and how much 1's a 0's can sound better. It's not just cables. Japanese SHM CD's claim superior sound quality due to the plastic used. What a crock of crap.

Oh and when I get the XMC-2 should I get one between the Ethernet switch and the XMC-2? would it improve 2ch clarity on all sources Does it really matter? We all know in the end you'll be selling/rebuying the XMC-2 6-8 times over the next couple of years so it certainly won't improve things when you're back to the Sherbourn during your in-between periods....

To be fair, there is a tarrif on 1's and 0's. And, being "smitten" is priceless...

It's no joking matter. If you buy one, the money has ceased to be "your money" and become 'their money" is very real.... and not at all funny. However, yes, the idea that an Ethernet cable is going to affect the sound quality of a digital audio stream is somewhat entertaining. (While you're at it you might consider asking if it will make your finances look better if you play your spreadsheet files through it.)

People wouldn't be selling this stuff if other people weren't buying it.
This makes me wonder - WHO BUYS THIS SORT OF STUFF?
It's almost gotta' be the people with ludicrous throw-away money
- Wall Streeters spending their 7 and 8-figure bonuses / trying to show eachother up (don't care if it works or not, just prove how much MORE $$$ you spent on your system than your colleages / clients / customers)
- Hollywood movie producers
- Drug underlords
- Pro Sports athletes
(I would hope that most succesful Rappers would KNOW enough about the tech associated with Music to understand what is good vs. what is B.S.)
[I'm amazed at how many on sites like AudEE-O-Gone have "bought into" the expensive Power Conditioning and exotic cables stuff - or are they just "pretending"?]

[I'm amazed at how many on sites like AudEE-O-Gone have "bought into" the expensive Power Conditioning and exotic cables stuff - or are they just "pretending"?] I am of the opinion that rich people don't just throw away money to prove how much more they have then their other friends. At least on things that don't have a tangible value. IE they will buy fancy cars, boats etc to show off, but that is something that people can be "impressed" by. People buy these cables because some how in their mind they think they work, and most likely a placebo effect happens where they actually think they can hear a difference when they use these cables. Honestly this even happens to many of us when we say upgrade amps or go from a $300 phono cartridge to a $700 one etc. A lot of the times there is no audible difference in the products, but we perceive there to be one because we spent more on a product and we subconsciously want to hear that value. I'm not ever saying I would buy or recommend a $3000 cable of any kind, but people are not just buying them to show off, they actually think they can hear a real difference in them.
