Too bad.... I’m late to the party, of finding out that Velodyne, though not out of business, IS out of the Subwoofer business. Unfortunate ...mines been gettin it done since Jan. Of 2001. They had a swap and replace system going in 2009 for the HGS plate amp. and I did so. Nothing to do now except outsourcing repair, and I found a highly recommended source if and when I need.
(EBC Electronics In New Jersey).

I read that David Hall has focused his efforts in his Lidar business and was working with Google on their self-driving car. It's too bad if they shut down the Velodyne Acoustics side of their business, but things change.

Sold Velodyne for over 10 years and the DD-12 was automatic for me and my clients. HGS was a good one too. One setup I sold had 2 DD-12s really before any of my co-workers were doing 2 Subwoofers. Was highly entertaining to listen too. Times and things change, and the audio business is not easy especially now. The pressures and challenges now versus from just 5 short years ago compared to today, is astounding. Between all the mergers and acquisitions, you need a program to keep up. Latest news is Klipsch CI going to Snap AV. Sound United gets Onkyo and Pioneer Elite, which are kind of one and the same anyway.
The Snap AV I am most interested in. With their custom mixer amps by Episode, also theirs, we use it in our stores and the gym. The kids abuse the Be-Jesus out it, and it is cool as a cucumber. Twin linear supplies, and build that screams high end, but is custom. The Subwoofer in our gym gets a workout too, also by Episode.
Araknis networks are the most I am impressed with with Snap AV. Bullet proof and super reliable, and well performing. Hero status there, and no excuses. Just robust, and clients love them. Velodyne was my goto because everthing else we had no names kind of well...sucked. Except the Sunfire tiny tiny cute subs that kept marriages intact, the sound to me was meh! It was tiny, and the finish in black cherry just sex. Thank you Velodyne for the good times.

As I recall their minus 3 DB point on the low end was under 20hz...they can move plenty of air.
