Does anyone live in AZ that could help me use REW software and help calibrate my room? I'm having a hard time getting it REW to work from my computer to my AVR. I have watched all the videos I could find and not having any luck. I think the issue is from my HDMI out of my PC to the front HDMI input on my Yamaha RX-A3070 AVR. I just need help setting it up I could compensate you for your time.

REW is a powerful tool, but the learning curve is STEEP.

Maybe there are different options now to use HDMI (which might make it more efficient in ease of use...but then there's HDMI and all that PITA. Mark

Mark I too haven't used it in quite some time, but if I remember correctly I used an HDMI cable from my laptop to the XMC-1 and had to install ASIO4all to make it work correctly. Maybe someone that's more familiar can help, otherwise I'd bet that the help that the OP seeks can be found on the HomeTheaterShack forum(link below). www.hometheatershack.com/forums/rew-forum/

dxtrem3fx If you find the REW program as steep to learn as Boom stated & I agree, most major metro areas have ISF Calibration & installers tech who know REW very well. When I had my Rear projection Pioneer ISF calibrated, REW was new & Steve was just learning it. A friend helped me REW the UMC-200 and took us all day.into the evening- a lot of trial & error. That was after he set up his pc with Java drivers, etc previously. (blind leading the blind) I had my pc connected to a 32" LCD monitor to read the forum also. Give it a shot, you can't screw it up too bad. I do advice all alcohol & firearms be temporarily removed from the house. A 'must have' is the miniDSP or Dayton Audio USB mic & cal file at $75-100. Considering time & cost of DIY, a $350-500 service call may be worth it. If you learn the basics before the calibration, that service call would be a great tutoring for the future. It's great to be able to get help at HomeTheaterShack forum, but there's nothing better (for me) than watching someone & have them explain the "whys" of doing things. (btw, we did have an audio out of pc to UMC) Good Luck!
Edit: I have been reading post from Anthem ARC Genesis users that are using REW to fine tune their units with great results. Don't know if Emo folks are doing any post Dirac fine tuning. One thing for sure, you'll find out how good or bad your room is. (& mine absolutely sucks & REW confirmed it)

Thank you Texzick, I've actually emailed a few local AV installers in my area none of which have responded. I'm more of a visual learner. I need to watch someone do it. All the guides never work since there are always differences in our systems.
