Hello friends,
I'm new member here, I'm from Kuwait. I believe I become an addict to Emotiva gears, I started it with XPA5 gen2 as I wanted to try its performance, now I end up having three Emotiva Power Amps.
Here is my point now...
One of my amp is XPA9 Gen3, and the four stereo ports are useless for my set up, I want to swap those two modules with powerful modules, I contacted Emotiva "We can do it for you, you have to bring it to up here" they said.
Now, Forwarding ship from USA to Kuwait is costly like hell (I paid $390 to get XPA5 Gen2 shipped to me), but backwarding ship from Kuwait to USA would cost almost three times of that price (no kidding). So, I was like, if I travel myself to the states and get trained by Emotiva to make it done, that would be cost effective more than back and forth ship the unite.
Conclusion, why Emotiva don't do small video how to change/upgrade/add modules yourself, and its so okay if that was understand customers' risk and responsibilities? at least for customers like me.
Note: In Kuwait we don't have authorized dealer, and I don't recommend Emotiva to have one since our market is very small.
Excuse my language and long post.
Thank you.

Abdullah,
The short answer is that it's actually rather complicated... (And, if you did it wrong, you actually could burn out the amplifier, or cause something to become a fire hazard...)
Therefore, along with not wanting to see any of our customers get hurt, there are also liability issues.

Abdullah,
I'm thinking it may be more cost effective to sell your amp there and purchase another amp from Emotiva, to me that may be a better way to go financially.
Cheers, Chad

Keith in plain english is being polite. We are talking lethal voltage and currents here. Personal injury or death can occur if proper service guidelines are not taken. I saw someone seriously hurt and was qualified to handle high voltage and current. She almost died.
Ask yourself if the risk is really worth it. I have over 50 years plus of Electronics and Mechanical background. How and why? I respect them. I know their capability, and I know how they may harm me.
Your best bet is to enjoy this amplifier in total safety and perhaps get another amplifier. We want to have you here along with us to enjoy the music and movies.
Unless as the bottom line goes you are a qualified service technician, you should not attempt any service on any electronics components. If you do, you do so at your own risk.

But still, there should be way out to be served in lower cost and expenses
I shall wait for UAE reply

It MIGHT be cheaper to buy the amp a seat on a plane! Shipping costs a lot these days.
Friends spent a couple years in France on work / study trip. They sold or gave away almost everything IN their house since
shipping was out of the question. They returned to their home country (Not USA) with basically a couple suit cases each.

I wish someone from Emotiva Sales department replies on the Dubai/UAE Authorized Dealer's email and inquiry Do you know how the UAE contacted Emotiva? Was it email or by phone? I am sure if it was by phone, they would have gotten an immediate response, so I am guessing it was not by phone. If it was by email, perhaps you could get the email they sent from and alert Emotiva to please look for it. In any case - good luck to you getting it resolved. I hope the UAE connection works out. If not, the other advice to try to sell yours locally and buy a new one with what you want will work out best. Mark

Dear All,,, Seems its not gonna work with Dubai dealer , the overall price is too high again.
I shall ask Emotive again... Send me the Two Modules, and I'll let an qualified technician do it for me. This technician is certified by Denon in Japan in all high-end audio products, in additional he works in a company which is authorized Anthem and Earthquake power amplifier too. Such technician should be good enough to make my work done.. correct?
