Comical ending Nick!
Be sure to keep that box and packaging for future transport should you want to add additional modules or need warranty work. If I am correct Emotiva requires that packaging and it isn't cheap!
Look forward to your sequel!

You’re schiitting me, right? This guy has been reviewing gear for how long? And he doesn’t have a minimum half dozen extra power cables?

Kyle aka Life of Bliss here You may not have noticed... but the amp was on during the pictures that were taken I did have an extra power cord laying around. It was just a little fun there at the end. But Emotiva did ship one out within 2 days once seeing this. Very good customer service! I haven't been reviewing products for too long, but have been into the audio game and building things for well over a decade. Always excited to try/listen to different products and learn more about the hobby.

In hindsight I should have posted a smiley face! My bad brotha! I was so engrossed in what was being said and thinking of the boxful of cables I own, LOL Thanks for being such a nice guy! novisnick, not a novice though. 😎

Trust me, I've seen some negative comments on some videos, so even if you were trying to be mean, I'd give it a 2 out of 10 Gotta let stuff roll off your back when posting online! But no, I thought your comment was kind of funny actually. Thanks for checking out the video, hopefully the next one will be helpful too. I can already say it really opened up my 1299s. Greater dynamics and stronger low end response. Very happy so far! Have a good one Nick!

An amp of this capacity SHOULD come equipped with a 12ga cord. Nothing less.

He is still working on his full review having plenty of time with the unit. Some of our reviewers require more time with units to create their reviews.
A lot of our review units are shared between each other. The person who had it before him didn't put the power cable back in the box. I made sure to overnight him a power cable the next day.

Yes, I understand the 'loaner' situation and somebody neglecting the power cord. Not oridinalrily a big deal, right?
I'm just thinking out load here.....If I had a high capacity multi-channel amp like the XPA-7 almost no matter WHAT cord it came with,
I'd be either doing a DIY 12ga Belden 83803 or check out some of the lower priced builders of such cable.
Does the amp SHIP with 12ga? Or 14ga?

It ships with a 14ga heavy duty IEC power cable.

It ships with a 14ga heavy duty IEC power cable. Which is appropriate for the 15A circuit it’s designed to be plugged in to.

Your wiring in your home on a 15A circuit is 14ga (and literally the cheapest wire they could get) so I can't see any need/benefit for a 12ga power cable. The only way I could see it is if you had one of these really expensive power re-generators where you were basically getting "clean" power right at the amp. In this case by all means go by a better power cable.

For those who live by specs, I suppose a 14ga will 'do'
But for no-comporomise sorts? 20amp service / using 12ga or perhaps 10ga wire, depending on run.
And no, David, everybody doesn't have 15a circuits. My dedicated line to my stereo is 20amp / 12ga.
Amps ONLY are plugged into that circuit.
And please not to forget the 20% derate applied to power feeds. That applies for 'long term' loads and
MIGHT apply to a real overachiever with a very power demanding HT setup.

I believe we know what his follow-up will be. He Likes ItWell there we go! Don't need to do the follow up video now!
Lol yes I do like the amp. I've been in contact with Nick about the follow up video as well. I needed to be out of town when I was not working for a while to help out with some family things going on. Then we were gone again for the holidays off and on, so I haven't made any videos for about 3 months now. I just need to edit the footage on this one and it should be up by the weekend. Hopefully you guys find it helpful!
Btw, Nick sent out one of their XIEC power cables the next day for me once he found out there was not one in the box. Emotiva has been great to work with throughout this process.

Hey guys, here is the review video for the XPA-7. Really enjoyed the clean power this thing pushed out. Let me know if you have any questions about my experience with it or the speakers I am using. Thanks again for the opportunity Nick!!
