OP and Ex-Vintage, did you also get Dirac software license as well? Or those were not included?
I hooked mine up, just 2.1 for now while I wait for xlr cables, but it works well! Easy to setup, the firmware was 5.4xxx instead of the latest 5.8xxx
Overall, so far, this was a real good deal! I would recommend checking the state of the batteries in the remote that come with it preinstalled. Mine, one was leaking a bit so the remote did not work until I cleaned the corrosion and replaced the batteries.

Thanks, called Emotiva and they are sending me a microphone wire/digitizer. They said with that, Dirac full at $99 can be purchased and used. I am going to try going without it for a little bit and see how it works, has to be better than the LMC-1 it is replacing!

I must contact Emotiva as well. One of the primary reasons for purchasing this is the advanced room correction. I got all the hardware, but definitely need Dirac. I'll set it up manual first (Preset), but even with my MC-700 pre-pro, the EmoQ made a big difference in SQ for the room that I have it in. I did not realize it did not come with Dirac. I also am surprised that since this is "Factory Refurbished" that it would have been updated to the latest Firmware. Emotiva must be doing virtually nothing with these machines to turn them around and offer them as "Factory Refurbished"

The first year I had the XMC1, I took a picture of the batteries with my phone, to make internet ordering easier (they are an odd size indeed). Iβm gonna look now and probably remove them until I grab another set. I nearly lost my Velodyne sub. Remote to the same fate. Bill

No leak and still working after 5 years. Still Iβll order up another set to play it safe. In the hurry, I failed to test the voltage. Bill

Firmware could be dependent on what HDMI board your refurbished XMC-1 has. Cheers, Chad

The main reason I bought the AMX-60 over the XMC-1 was ability to do 5.2.4, our room won't accommodate rears, so Atmos will have to do. I'm learning & playing with ARC Genesis, but still believe Dirac is king of the hill. $1500, 1 yr warranty plus $100 for Full Dirac- not bad at all. I have yet to hear any system better than at the Emo Roadshow XMC-1 (in a hotel room, of all places)

So, for us new found XMC-1 owners, a few lessons learned.
1). I had a heck of a time getting the ARC to work. Finally figured out I had the wrong HDMI output on the XMC. The HDMI out 2 is labeled for ARC, and with that it worked fine. The ARC is a sound improvement over optical because of the true 5.1 capability. Nice.
2). Now on to Dirac. I got the Dirac Full from EMO and just downloaded it tonight. When I connected the network cable to the XMC to let the Dirac software find it, bam, the ARC quit. This stuff is way more frustrating than my Windows PC, and that says alot!
3) The extraordinary time it takes for the unit to initialize is a pain for my Harmony remote. I set a default power up input and when it is ready, I can then select the actual input that I want. Not terrible, but a 2 step process none the less.
The good is even without the Dirac eq in place the unit sounds very good. Definition and sound stage are noticeably improved. More to come....

Question- did Emotiva offer Dirac 2.0 Full version? MiniDPS is offering a free Dirac upgrade to their equipment. I was considering their Streaming HD Volumio server & noticed their Dirac 2.0 availability.

Report out - Dirac does as advertised. My system has better detail / imaging after loading the filters. I also noticed a little less bass than I would like, so a small adjustment to the subs volume made it fit to taste. Are there any more words of wisdom from those who have experimented with Dirac? At the moment I am fairly pleased with the correction it has made and am relatively sure it would have cost me more than $100 and a fairly unhappy wife to have experimented with room treatments

At the moment I am fairly pleased with the correction it has made and am relatively sure it would have cost me more than $100 and a fairly unhappy wife to have experimented with room treatments It's amazing the extra detail you can here(especially in music) when you even out the frequency response, and yes it will even out the lows as well which can also be adjusted via Dirac Full, and even with room correction room treatments will always help out the most, taming reflections will also help immensely but like you said not every spouse likes the idea of acoustic panels, you can buy or make them more visually appealing though. Glad to hear you are happy with it. Chad
