Found this refurbished with 1 year factory warranty on EBay. It came last Friday. I have not unboxed it because I am waiting until I get subs to complete the home theater gear.

Hmm. Not able to add picture of boxed XMC-1 that is sitting on an old coffee table that my parents have had since the 70’s and now is mine. There are a couple of pictures leaning against the wall, yet to be hung,to the left of the table. One has a two glasses of poured red wine and their bottle sitting on sheet music. It rests against a larger painting of the beach of a tropical paradise with a felled palm tree lying next to one standing, full with bunches of coconuts. To the right is the left channel speaker of my 2 channel system, a Magnepan. This is all backdropped by a beautiful paling of brown paneling that must also be from the 70’s.

Nice stuff, I just re-wired my rack as it was a mess, put the XMC-1 back in until the XMC-2 is available for trade, my Sherbourn 7020A was acting up, I really like the SQ through the Sherbourn but man the XMC-1 back in running music in Reference Stereo to my T1's is absolutely stunning in detail. How much were they asking for the XMC-1 and is it a 1.4b HDMI or the newer 4K version 2.0. Here's a pic of my rack after last nights cleanup

Did you make that rack system yourself? It is way cool. What is the shelving made from? I am about to start considering racks myself.

Nice $1500 seems really fair, there is one on US Audio mart right now for $1850 The rack is a DIY Flexy rack, made from threaded rod and the shelves are MDF that I cut to size and painted black, some of the threaded rod I covered with pex pipe i cut to length and painted blue, it works well and is really strong and the top shelves I can adjust since they don't have the pex covering the threaded rod, and I installed some Ikea casters on the bottom so I can easily move it around, I actually moved it out from where it is into my rec room as there is more room out there to do the cleanup haha.

If it was marked as refurb, then you probably got one of the trade ins. Congratulations. I'm keeping my XMC-1 until they can convince me that one of their new processors is soooo much better.

Thanks for this heads-up! I just went to Ebay and got myself an XMC-1 refurb from Emotiva (Jadedesign) as well, for $1450+25 shipping! I have been considering XMC-1 forever... but could not pull the trigger while it was available... now this proven platform can be had just like that, made it a no-brainer for me!

For me in my room and my ears it has been an outstanding processor for SQ, 2ch reproduction has for me always been a big plus using the XMC-1, I recently switched out my Sherbourn PT-7020A for another XMC-1 and while I thought(and it did) sound very good the XMC-1 is just that much better, remember this is my room and my ears but for the price of them yes you do not get all the latest bells and whistles but IMO you do get really really good sound quality. Cheers, Chad

I just received my refurb XMC-1 today! Just opened the box and saw that it looks spotless and clean, doesn't look like used at all.
Interesting to note that the calibrated microphone and the little tripod were included, but no microphone cable or the USB connector were included. Manual for Dirac Live LE was included, but I guess these refurb units don't come with the cable and connection so even if we decide to get the full version software, we are out of luck. Oh well...
Did the OP open the box to check what was in the box?
I am about to hook this up next and see if it works next...

Are those 3 Mono-blocks not hooked to anything? If so, that is a violation of the secret mono-block society, and will be an immediate suspension of your mono-block society card until further notice.

I also took advantage of the Jade Design EBay offer for the XMC-1 at $1450. Ordered the unit Monday eve, and received it today (Wens). Shipped from Emotiva with the double boxes, cloth cover and all the required accessories. The unit looks pristine (remote as well). The only item that had noticeable wear was the user manual. I have not powered the unit up yet, but the menu structure appears to be more straight forward than the MC-700 I have and the room correction with the Dirac looks to be much more complicated than the EmoQ that is in the MC. I'll get her hooked up and calibrated after the Labor day weekend and check out the sound quality (which is the primary reason for my upgrade). $1450 seems like a steal considering I am not an HT fanatic and a 5.1 system is all I am interested in for video. More to follow.
