I've had the XMC for about a month and just got around to playing with the Xbox again. The OS works fine until I started "Anthem" which booted fine no video with the game music being played. I did upgrade the firmware to 5.8 as I this unit does have the 4K upgraded board.

Double check your HDMI cables. This is a 4K HDR title and uses much more bandwidth (2x) as the normal console video output.
To check this, go into settings and set your output to something lower like 1080p. If you can now see video (4x less bandwidth), there is your proof.

It seems the XMC needs to "settle" into new conndctions because after a few reboots it started working.

What display are you running it on? 4k HDR @60hz is damn tough. You are literally maxing out the card, cable, and display capabilities. In theory it all should work, but it's a lot of data. Part of me thinks its a display issue since you are getting sound (thus the HDMI is taking to the XMC okay) but no video. I would look at the HDMI cable between your XMC and the TV as well.

display should not be an issue, maybe the cable from the XMC-1 to the display?

New cables resolved it.
