Sounds interesting. I bet that in 5 years, we'll all be talking about different on-line streaming services than we are today. Amazon may be one of them. Hopefully, the various player options out there will integrate them so we can each use the ones we want. As is, certain players don't play well with certain streaming services...for example, jRiver doesn't get along well with Tidal (or at least it didn't when I dropped jRiver).

Looks like the bluesound node has amazon music built into it. It is supported from the blueos app. I think there is one fro sale on the forum somewhere.

If Amazon, Apple and Spotify go lossless, the market for cds and cd players will evaporate. Sell yours while there’s still a market for this outdated format.
And as far as devices go, just get a mac mini.

I had been thinking about an echo link or a bluesound for a while and this move just caused me to pull the trigger on an echo link... I like the stations on prime and going up in quality is going to cause me to try this over Tidal/Qobuz... Hopefully it works as well as the normal echo just with better quality. BTW I am planning to only use the digital out on the link as the reviews all seem to agree that the internal DAC is crap... When I had the Denon in place of the RMC the HEOS worked great with Amazon, I really miss that feature...

I received an email with the 90 day trial offer already being an Amazon Unlimited subscriber. Might have to try it although I am not really integrated at home for Amazon playback on my theater system.

So I've signed up for Amazon's unlimited and compared it to Tidal Hifi. The first difference is Amazon's volume is 50% lower than Tidal. That's hard to get over.... Also as a student you get Amazon for $4.99 and Tidal for $9.99 per month. I'll play with it a little longer and also see if Amazon's library is larger than that of Tidal. Edit: Tried the Desktop app same volume. Tidal and Google Music volume is the same.

Add to it your insertion of what the best device is that EVERYONE should use because YOU say so, and there you have a complete arrogantbill post. As for Amazon streaming, good to know and definitely something to watch. They want to rule the world so why not through music to. I'll probably give it a spin at some point.

No need to be so threatened, just sharing my point of view, as you so often do.

For anyone to fool themselves and think that CD players will remain relevant once streaming becomes just as good quality wise as a CD is not being rational. Sure there will always be people who just want to physically own their music instead or "renting" music month to month, but that number will be very small.

I just can't get on board with not owning the physical media. I don't trust cloud based streaming sources as they frequently go down, or become sporadically unavailable, and/or require "subscriptions" and always require (yet another) monthly fee for something. I'd prefer everything on Blu-ray audio. Yeah I'm sure the selection is good, and maybe I'll come around some day(?), but I don't like an uncontrollable third party between me and my music...or movies...

Amazon isn’t going down. They don’t even have to pay taxes.

Will be interesting when the cd plants quit. Also, I like variety beyond the 40th pressing of Stairway to Heaven... The 41st pressing will be the best, just wait and see! 😎

I noticed this issue too, comparing the volume of Amazon Music HD with Tidal and Qobuz on Roon... The difference was so huge that I was not inclined to do any volume matching to compare the quality of the signals. I wonder what the deal is with that wimpy volume. I've never heard any so-called hi-rez music sound so anaemic, especially coming from the Airmotiv 6S studio monitors. I am almost at the point of thinking there is something fundamentally wrong with the Amazon HD streaming signal.
